CBS All Access just released a full-length trailer for the upcoming second season of The Good Fight, premiering on Sunday, March 4 (opposite the Oscars, for some inexplicable reason):

February 6, 2018 at 9:48 am #1202488572Looks fantastic, and hoping the Kings can give Baranski an entire powerhouse episode submission (because you know they can, and did, many times, for Margulies) that she lacked in the first season–other than the Pilot. I tuned into this hoping to finally have Baranski be the leading star of the TV series, and she was often neglected to the side.

Although I agree, I don’t think at this point in time it will make a difference for her awards prospects, to be honest. With all of last year’s Drama Actress contenders at the Emmys eligible to return this year (as far as I can tell), it seems unlikely that Baranski unseats anybody, especially lacking the increased awareness she had with the launch of the first season last time around. Regardless, it would be great to see Baranski take the reins more this season. The trailer certainly looks great!

March 3, 2018 at 10:13 pm #1202505262March 4 marks Hollywood’s (and Gold Derby’s) biggest night, but it also marks the premiere of the second season of The Good Fight:

March 4, 2018 at 3:20 pm #1202505867The premiere was fast-paced and had a lot going on, but that final scene was beautiful (a little jarring to see Diane like that, but still beautiful nonetheless, and what a great cover of “But Not for Me”). Christine Baranski was excellent. She conveyed so much with her just her face and eyes in that ending scene.

Synopsis: The firm represents a woman assaulted on a reality dating show; Diane fears she may be the next lawyer targeted by violence.
Christine Lahti and Rob Reiner guest star.

March 17, 2018 at 9:50 pm #1202515013I really enjoyed the season premiere, especially given how much table-setting they had to do, and I thought the second episode was even better! I’m glad to see this part of Maia’s saga (ostensibly) wrapped up, though I hope we continue to see appearances from Bernadette Peters and Paul Guilfoyle. Audra McDonald has already been a great addition to the series and I’m looking forward to her going head-to-head with Baranski later in the season, as it looks like they’re teasing.

ReplyCopy URLMarch 18, 2018 at 9:30 pm #1202515434Excellent episode all around tonight, from the ricin scare to the all too topical and disturbing case of the week. Baranski, Sarah Steele, and Nyambi Nyambi were standouts. I also continue to love Christine Lahti in this role. I hope her new series, should it get picked up, won’t interfere too much in future appearances here; she’s one of my absolute favorite recurring characters. Speaking of, Gary Cole, Carrie Preston, and Mamie Gummer all guest starring next week!

March 19, 2018 at 7:51 am #1202515632Baranski was fantastic! That “F-U” ending ranks up there as an iconic Diane moment.

Very exciting news! It’ll be interesting to see if they mention Kalinda by name in any of the episodes in which he appears.
