This last weeks episode was absolutely brutal. Great episode.

This week’s episode was iconic. Some series best work from Cush Jumbo and Nyambi Nyambi. I can’t wait to see the fallout from this episode and what the future holds for Maia.

This season has been a bit inconsistent, but this episode was truly excellent! Great performances from Jumbo, Baranski, Boatman, Lindo, and Nyambi and a fantastic script. We’re almost at the mid-point in the season, sadly, but I feel like they’ve now laid all of the groundwork for an eventful second-half.

Again, I’d only want Margulies to return if it was organic and natural to the plot (and the idea this year actually sounded great). Agree with Margulies on the pay parity. Seems like a missed opportunity.

Tonight’s episode was great! I love how experimental and fearless this show is getting… what with the cartoon “school house rock” teaching moments in every episode and then the speech about punching the nazi at the end of tonight’s saga.

Loved having Michael Sheen’s character involved with the whole firm alongside the other cast members. He shared great chemistry with Delroy Lindo. Additionally, I loved loved loved seeing Christine Baranski and Audra McDonald singing Prince together!!! Can the firm please have a karaoke night soon? Lol

The riot scene at the election site was crazy and unfortunately too realistic. I loved how Nyambi Nyambi‘s character broke the 4th wall to speak to the audience. Powerful stuff. I think the only thing I didn’t really care for about this episode was Maia’s storyline. Yes she was fired last week, but she came off as a winey brat tonight. Poor little white girl… maybe that was the whole point by the writers? I thought it immature of her character to ignore opportunities presented to her by Diane or her friendship with Lucca.

I had no idea this season was shortened to 10 episodes! Halfway down and 5 more to go!!!

I’m enjoying the season, but I’m pretty mixed overall. I’m completely over the hokey weekly cartoons (and apparently there is one in every episode). Audra McDonald is standing out this season. Last season had a lot of iconic Diane moments (the “FU” scene is a standout), so I’m hoping Baranski gets a fabulous showcase in the second half. I’d be so disappointed if there isn’t a truly Diane-focused episode with something for Baranski to chew the scenery.

This last episode was the best of the season so far, with the premiere a close second. It struck the right balance of court case and political interest; Nyambi Nyambi had some great moments. And for the first time, Blum really worked for me. I think having Diane, Adrian, Liz, and Julius working with and responding to him instead of just Maia helped steady the ship, tonally. Tegan Shohet wrote this episode and also wrote one of the best last season (the impeachment one) and I wish they’d have her pen more scripts. Also, Baranski and McDonald singing together? Perfect.

TVLine recently published an article speculating about whether Rose Leslie will be leaving the series, though CBS confirms she’s still in more episode this season:

I really doubt they’ll write her out, even though the show has changed since the first season. I feel like Blum will somehow bring her Maia back into the fold, especially with Sheen only on board for one season.

Episodes: The One with the Celebrity Divorce

Synopsis: Lucca assists a celebrity hairdresser (guest star Tituss Burgess) arrange a postnuptial agreement for a high-profile client; Blum begins sinking his teeth into the firm; Diane’s resistance group becomes the topic of pundit speculation.

A little bit late, just watched episode 5. The monologue scene was very good and it had great scenes, but for me it wasn’t good as the previous episodes.
