The second season of NBC’s singing competition series “The Voice” premieres following the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 5, 2012.
Returning coaches include Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, and Blake Shelton. Hosted by Carson Daly.
There is a rumor that the four coaches will collaborate on a Prince medley in the first or second episode.February 1, 2012 at 2:49 pm #238454
^ I think the Prince medley was already confirmed?
Anyway, Christina Milian replaces Alison Haislip as the Social Media Correspondent. I’m actually excited for this more than what’s happening in AI now. Glad to see they got the post Super Bowl slot!February 4, 2012 at 9:49 pm #238455

Oh! This was my 200th post. Yay!February 5, 2012 at 7:29 pm #238457
Here we go! Season 2!February 5, 2012 at 10:02 pm #238458
I missed it after the Super Bowl, but I’m going to track it down to the ends of the Earth. By far one of the coolest and stress-free competitions on television. And the talent pool last year was tremendous. I hope this year’s is the same or better.February 6, 2012 at 1:07 am #238459
The early standouts so far are Jesse Campbell (who was the first to get all four coaches to turn around to pick him), Chris Mann, and Tony Lucca. I’ll have to wait until tonight to see if this season surpasses last season’s talent pool or not, but they’re off to a very good start. The four coaches haven’t missed a beat with their chemistry.February 6, 2012 at 2:15 am #238460
The blind auditions are so enjoyable! I’m rooting for Tony Lucca. That was so cute how Christina “suddenly” remembered him. Also, Christina was sort of hilarious this episode.February 6, 2012 at 8:18 am #238461
I’m loving this show! There was a lot of exceptional talent last night. Jesse Campbell is the major standout. His version of “A Song For You” was flawless. Can’t wait to see more tonight.February 6, 2012 at 8:33 am #238462
That was a very satisfying season opener. And good set of talents (didn’t like Blake’s first one), but the rest of them were very good! And yes, Christina was funny. Love the Tony Lucca bit as well.February 6, 2012 at 9:51 am #238463
I completely lost my mind when Tony Lucca came out. When they said “somebody from Christina’s past” I thought they meant an ex boyfriend or something, when Carson said his name it was over…I lost it.
I was an INSANE fan of MMC, and please, if I recognized him, so did Christina. It would’ve been an even better moment during the audition. I felt kind of bad for Tony.
I hated Tony because I was madly in love with Keri Russell back then and they were together. Those guys were my High School Musical.
And yes, Tony is very talented, he had a great voice 17, 20 years ago, and he has it now too. I don’t need to see anybody else.
And also, I’m old.February 6, 2012 at 10:25 am #238464
Are you old really? Because Christina and Tomy don’t seem old at all. In fact, I’m 25 and I don’t think of people like Britney and Justin as old.February 6, 2012 at 10:43 am #238465
Jesse Campbell seems like the Javier Colon of this year – a tremendous audition that foreshadows a possible win? I was a little irritated by his overuse of his “this is for you, baby girl” backstory. They love playing that stuff up. I just appreciated that the producers didn’t put the Slo-Mo button to use. You folks who watch a lot of reality competition know what I’m talking about.
The insults being hurled during the Juliet audition were pretty crazy – Christina got Jesse, why was she so sharp towards Adam? No idea. I love the judges’ chemistry all the same.
Tony Lucca and Chris Mann were both terrific as well. I’m very interested to see how they do in the battle rounds. So, just for the heck of it, I’ll keep a tally on what performers each coach gets, and who gets eliminated, etc.

Tony Lucca? The dude who sang Friday Night Lights’ “Devil Town”?
