I didn’t realize it was coming back tomorrow. The buzz for this seems dead. The show is going to continue to trend downward at the Emmys. If it’s nominated for drama series this year it’ll probably be the last time.September 25, 2018 at 7:16 am #1202640993

Yeah, probably. I suppose Brown and Ventimiglia could still continue to happen because of the lack of competition in that category.September 25, 2018 at 8:28 am #1202641018
NBC aired that Paley Center tribute to the show last Tuesday which seemed desperate to me, but it got a respectable demo considering the 10pm airtime and the time of year.
We are starting to get the warmed-over copycats this year (A Million Little Things), so we’ll see how the flagship fares when it’s not the only sad-for-the-sake-of-sad game in town.September 25, 2018 at 8:33 am #1202641023
I still want Ventimiglia to win.September 25, 2018 at 10:56 am #1202641107
Who is ready to be emotionally destroyed tonight?September 26, 2018 at 5:27 am #1202641550
This felt like a weak premier the Deja stuff is boring and preddticable.September 26, 2018 at 6:10 am #1202641566
The premiere episode wasn’t strong. I’m excited for them to tackle Jack’s Vietnam days. I read somewhere that they actually filmed some scenes in that country.September 26, 2018 at 6:18 am #1202641570
Ok so I watched this and honestly I am terrified. If that flash forward told me anything, something is going to be very very bad. My grade: A+September 26, 2018 at 7:25 am #1202641617
So many questions! Who is Old Randall and Adult Tess visiting? Where are they going? Too many options to speculate. Randall calls Old Toby and says “she would want you to be there.” Alone in bed, so where is Kate? Hmmm. Good premiere. Jack and Rebecca’s bad first date scenes bored me with their “aw-shucks” reactions to everything. I was much more interested in Kate and Toby’s pregnancy and depression battles. Odd that Toby would take such a brash direction with his anti-depression meds. The first pregnancy happened with your low sperm count, and wouldn’t you just go back to your normal cocktail instead of going off the rails in withdrawals? I’ve been one of the few supporters of the Deja storyline, so I’m glad to see Randall and Beth formally adopt her. She’s actually a compelling character when all of her angsty teen façade is stripped away. Kevin and Beth’s cousin? Meh. Not engaged with that much at all. The only fun part there was Beth’s pointed annoyance at them. I’m curious to see how the Vietnam scenes play out for the ensemble. Tim O’Brien consulted on those episodes, which is very exciting. “The Things They Carried” is one of the best books on Vietnam out there.September 26, 2018 at 8:13 am #1202641637
Beth is probably my favorite part of the show, her sass is incredible, even if it means tolerating the cheesy dialogue between her and Randal (swear to Oprah!) Jack going to Vietnam feels like a relatively cheap way to come up with story line (I mean you dissect his alcoholism and barely touch on it, but now we’ve got what looks like a season dedicated to it). Nonetheless, I kind of support it if it means Milo is in the running for a win again. Also a little torn because I really thought Mandy deserved a nom last year so I’d like for her to have some good material but not if it means some out of the blue tragedy porn. Chrissy Metz is good but Toby will never not bother me.September 26, 2018 at 6:05 pm #1202641915
What are your thoughts on this performance from Chrissy Metz in this recent episode?September 26, 2018 at 6:14 pm #1202641923
Who was the Italian lady and the black guy and that family? I have absolutely no idea what that was.September 26, 2018 at 6:38 pm #1202641947

It’s an old football player that the creator loved or something and he wanted to add that to the show those scenes were around the same time that jack and rebecca met i’m guessing.
