< But why was I so happy to see Jane Kaczmarek pop up here as Alan’s mother lol? She should be on television again, and not in minor roles like this. They can’t stop throwing series work to Patricia Heaton, but nothing to Kaczmarek? SMDH.</p>

That’s because Patricia Heaton actually won an Emmy.

Touché lol. One deserved and one undeserved. Kaczmarek should have won at least one Emmy.

This season isn’t doing it for me at all. I have never complained about This Is Us, in fact, I have probably loved almost every single episode to date. The season premiere was very good IMO, but the two follow-ups – not so much. I can’t even explain why. There are always moments and scenes that I absolutely adore, like Rebecca eating a cookie to make Kate not feel bad, or the Rebecca/ Jack scene in the most recent episode. My main problem I guess is Randall. I can’t stand him nor can I stand his storyline. Either he’s just an a**hole to his siblings or he plays the hero, I just can’t with him anymore. Sterling has nothing to do that warrants him award nominations, IMO. Bringing back Ron Cephas Jones is unnecessary at this point and just annoying. They’re probably trying to get him another Emmy, sigh.

I’ve never 100% agreed with the “this show is purely manipulative,” but I am kind of feeling that now. I still love this show, but the one-note tone is really getting to me.

Emmy voters must bend the knee to Lena Headey & Emilia Clarke for "Game of Thrones." It's their last chance to award them. Make it happen.

For you to get this far and not come to that realization is honestly a miracle.

The “Big Three” are probably three of the most grating, obnoxious, and unpleasant characters in television history.

I will accept Patricia Heaton’s first win, but not her second win. I think Jane Kaczmarek and Debra Messing cancelled each other because they both had better submissions than Patricia Heaton.

They lost because they had better submissions, eh?

Those episode were already filmed and written before his Emmy win, they are bringing him back because they want to and they think that is a good addition and I agree with them, I like very much all his scenes. And I will quote Miles: ¨The “Big Three” are probably three of the most grating, obnoxious, and unpleasant characters in television history¨, but the writers are very conscious about that, which make it very interesting.

It looks like this episode will only feature Jack and his time in Vietnam. Milo’s getting a tape.

Just curious, why are you planning to skip this one?

I was already thinking of dropping the show after two seasons, but started the third one just because the show is an Emmy contender. Again, after the three episodes, I’m not interested in any of the characters and I’d rather quit. The Vietnam plot is especially boring to me.

Here I thought “Vietnam” would be the episode I’d be skipping, but next week’s episode is titled “Toby”. The universe wants me to quit the show.

Milo did that shit tonight! I thought that “Super Bowl Sunday” was his shining moment on the series to date, but “Vietnam” just surpassed that. Ken Olin directed this episode beautifully BTW. All of this looked very … expensive. Michael Angarano made a great first impression too. I’m instantly drawn into Nicky’s story now.
