There is a Veep marathon on HBO, and man was this season great!

Too bad the cast will never win the SAG Ensemble since OITNB has a stranglehold on that category.

JLD can submit anything and win, but the obvious choice is “Mother”, followed by “Kissing Your Sister” and “Congressional Ball”. When she wins, I hope she does not do another scketch speech, like she has with every other win…

Tony Hale was given little to do this season, so here’s hoping Timothy Simons, Hugh Laurie, or Kevin Dunn can compete against him. Hale is still the front runner though….his only competition, thus far, is Titus Burgess. But if Burgess could not win last year, I don’t see him winning for a divisive Season 2 of UKS.

Veep is the front winner for Comedy Series…..unless there is ground well of support for Master of None, which I do not see happening.

What are folks thoughts on tape selection for Series?

Based on their submissions for writing and directing, “Mother”, “Kissing Your Sister”, and “Morning After”are in.

They should also submit Congressional Ball.

Honestly I don’t know. Last year they left out the funniest and IMO best episodes so that the submissions could make more sense in terms of plot and they won. This year, I’d say Morning After, Camp David, Mother, Kissing Your Sister/Doc, Congressional Ball and Inauguration would make a pretty strong bunch.

I just watched “Camp David”. Incredible. It was like their version of the cabin episode of “Frasier”.

Agreed. It’s easily the most underrated Veep episode ever. K couldn’t believe how many viewers dismissed it as just a “filler”.

Hmm… I think it might be my least favorite of the entire series. It is just sooooo broad and out-of-tune with the rest of the season.

The Chinese thinking Selina is kissing her daughter? All of the double entendres? C’mon.

I love these comments because they allow me to keep calling that episode the most underrated Veep episode ever, however wrong they are.

    That honor belongs to “Tehran”.

I loved Camp David. How can anyone call it a filler? It’s the episode where Selina “frees Tibet”. One of the most crucial details that make the final episode that much more sobering and hilarious. I think it was brilliant.

“Camp David” was one of my favorite episodes of Season 5. Brilliant! So many laugh-out-loud moments.

Watching Inauguration and then watching A Woman First and Groundbreaking, its interesting to see Serena’s fall and rise.
