Sorry if this is already a forum, I searched but nothing came up.
Did anyone else catch this last night? I’m not the biggest Danny McBride fan, but I thought this was pretty solid. Goggins is the standout IMO, and he should definitely be in the Best Supporting Comedy Actor or Best Lead Comedy Actor conversation next year.
Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.July 19, 2016 at 1:12 am #1201874556
Just watched the premiere. Like Silicon Valley done by MTV. Okay at best. The cast was pretty good.July 19, 2016 at 1:26 am #1201874561
I watched the pilot. If this hot mess doesn’t start a campaign for a television branch of the Razzies, nothing will.July 19, 2016 at 2:22 am #1201874567
Why must another sitcom use prison rape jokes for attempted humor? Ugh. Love that Celia Weston (SC homegirl and my childhood dentist’s sister) as the secretary, and Walton Goggins as usual is the best thing in it.July 19, 2016 at 7:22 am #1201874664
I pretty much never really like Danny McBride in anything, and if I drop this show, he will be the reason why. Goggins was giddily entertaining and the new principal could be an amazing character, but good God, McBride has never done it for me before and the focus on him in this first episode really knocked this down a few pegs for me.July 19, 2016 at 7:28 am #1201874666
I watched this on demand yesterday and it’s definitely different. Gogins was ok. McBride was the standout to me but I’m sure this will be like “Billions” for me with each lead owning different episodes. My grade: BJuly 19, 2016 at 7:48 am #1201874677
Yeah, this was bad. Watching adults being petulant with no redeeming value otherwise isn’t funny no matter who is delivering the dialogue. And Goggins, whom I love, seems like a straight guy trying to play a gay guy. Not great, either.July 19, 2016 at 10:52 am #1201874790
So, so, so bad. The representation of women is really horrible in the show and as if it wasn’t enough, two jokes about threatening a student of rape were the limit for me. F and bye.July 19, 2016 at 11:36 am #1201875147
Love Walton Goggins. Loathe Danny McBride. Dilemma! Sounds like the show’s shitty, so an easy NOPE.July 19, 2016 at 2:34 pm #1201875251
I heard on the Indiwire TV Podcast, that the pilot was actually the best episode (of the five the critic watched). Loved Goggins, but hated everything else. Didnt find it funny.July 19, 2016 at 8:05 pm #1201875346
Crap show At least EastBound and Down was stupid funny… Waste of Goggins’ giftRiley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantJuly 23, 2016 at 11:41 pm #1201879456
I found it funny (not witty), but I can see how others might feel that it is the worst show on television.July 25, 2016 at 10:10 am #1201879790
Did anyone watch it last night? “A Trusty Steed” was very hit or miss. My grade: C. McBride is my fav thing on this show. Kinda feel like this show is going to get canceled though.July 25, 2016 at 12:16 pm #1201879883
I couldn’t even get through the first 5 minutes of this show. Eeeeek.Riley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantJuly 27, 2016 at 7:27 pm #1201880970
Okay, the second episode “A Trusty Steed” went places that I never expected. I laughed so hard that I cried. For Your Consideration: Outstanding Comedy Series.
