First trailer: https://youtu.be/OM8HNuRLIBI
HBO has released their first Westworld trailer online. Based off the 1973 Michael Crichton book of the same name, and executive produced by Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight, Person of Interest), Lisa Joy, and J.J. Abrams, the series is described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.” If it follows the central premise of the film, it revolves around androids that run amuck in a high-tech, western-style theme park.
The series premieres in 2016, and stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, and Evan Rachel Wood.August 9, 2015 at 7:52 pm #357310

Looks good! But I must say the trailer from “Vinyl” had me way more excited.
True (the Vinyl trailer had more character), though I only realized it was a trailer for Westworld about halfway through (wasn’t paying attention). Excited for both.
The film is awesome. This should be good.November 12, 2015 at 7:35 am #357312

Excited for this – all the re-tooling makes me a bit nervous but the trailer at least looks pretty great. Will definitely be checking out the pilot.August 28, 2016 at 4:35 pm #1201914677
Looks interesting. Could see it becoming a huge hit (Game of Thrones) or a huge flop (Vinyl), but it definitely has my attention.
Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.September 17, 2016 at 1:33 am #1201923528
I knew it was going to be good. I am so happy this is getting great reviews.September 28, 2016 at 11:55 am #1201928693
Currently sitting at a 69 on metacritic which is a bit disappointing but that’s only including 6 critics including one absolute pan from Variety. I expect this number to climb at least closer to the upper 70s range but we’ll see. HBO needs this to succeed badly after Vinyl. Does it have any other buzzy drama projects in development?September 28, 2016 at 12:09 pm #1201928707
Rotten Tomatoes has fifteen reviews (all positive) with an average rating of 8.2, so Mo Ryan might just be the only one who does not like it. The critical consensus is: “With an impressive level of quality that honors its source material, the brilliantly addictive Westworld balances intelligent, enthralling drama against outright insanity.” Bet on high seventies for Metacritic. HBO’s next new continuing drama series is The Deuce coming out in the summer (David Simon, George Pelecanos, Michelle MacLaren, James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Zoe Kazan).September 28, 2016 at 12:14 pm #1201928710
It has 100% on Westworld not including Variety’s review. Also, HBO has a few buzzy projects, like Amy Adams’ sharp objects and the mini series big little lies. There was also talks for a watchmen tv show so that could be something big. Oh, and there were rumors that there would be DC tv shows that tied in with the movies.
