I know many people are predicting Wiley in guest but I can’t see how Rigg loses. It seems like everything has lined up perfectly for her, but who knows. I still wish that Tyson would win this.

More than Dowd, Wiley won’t lose due to vote-splitting. She is up against literal cameos, Jones won her only Emmy on her only nomination a decade ago, and Jenrette isn’t a Martindale type of beloved name that one could just check off because they love her so much. Wiley will win. THT did really well with the actors branch, minus poor Tomei and Brewer. GoT couldn’t lead either Lead in nor previous nominee Williams back into Supporting. This show has always struggled with the actors branch. I know SAG and the Emmys mostly shouldn’t be compared, but look at how Game of Thrones has yet to win anything at SAG that isn’t for Stunt Ensemble! This show just isn’t beloved by actors in general it seems. Rigg only has 1 scene at the end of her episode, and while it is a memorable scene, Wiley has the benefit of being in her episode “After” more and being in the show the actors branch likes more. Game of Thrones has only won for 1 of its actors for the first 6 seasons while The Handmaid’s Tale managed to win for 3 of its actors for the 1st season alone! Wiley is the way to go prediction-wise in that category, in my opinion.

Saying that Hendricks, Baranski and Smith did not deserve all of their nominations is blasphemy. They all were incredible and constantly solid, also all of them created an iconic characters that became an immortal part of pop culture, especially the Dowager Countess of Grantham. Also, we saw Violet and Joan to evolve and to change over the seasons, I do thing that Diane was never really explored in The Good Wife, but Baranski was always a scene stealer.

PREACH. Baranski deserved every single nomination. People who think other wise didn’t watch the show. I will admit that last Maggie Smith won annoyed me because that should have gone to Lena Heady. Even though they didn’t explore her enough they gave her a fantastic spin off which is freaking brilliant and it’s a crime she wasn’t nominated this year for lead actress despite the crowded category. Her tape would stand up to any of the nominees.

I love Smith and she made her character one of the most iconic in TV so I’m ok with her first 2 wins, but that third one is a bit cringe.

I will cry hardly if Headey doesn’t get what she deserves.

Me too. I am so tired of her losing. But at least this year I will be fine with anyone else winning (except Brown).

    She’s not better than Headey.

The three THT actress situation reminds me off the 2007 race with the three greys anatomy ladies. Will the fact that they have added Strahovski a performance they are passionate about push her over the edge. Much like Heigl.

I really don’t think one can compare this year’s race with any other race before the Emmy system underwent changes. Heigl won under a tape system, where the nominees were also ranked. Now that we have this popular vote, it’s difficult to overcome vote splitting, especially with 2 other costars nominated. Unless of course there is a clear frontrunner like Sterling K. Brown was when he won his first Emmy even though he had Travolta and Schwimmer competing against him. I don’t know if there is a clear front-runner among THT actresses. I do think that if anyone of them were to win, it would be Strahovski. I don’t buy the Dowd repeat even though I would be very happy if it did happen.

I just watched Vanessa Kirby’s submission of “Beryl” from The Crown and this is one heck of a great submission. She has a lot of screen time and she definitely shows quite a bit of range.

I still have the other submissions to get through in this category.

This category needs to have clips during the ceremony.  (They better not do clips of drama supporting actor instead.)

I’d like to see clips most importantly for lead drama actress, supporting drama actress, lead comedy actress, lead comedy actor, and lead limited actor.
