I’m half way through and I have major problems with it. Bateman is not working for me in this role and the writing is pretty sloppy. I also think they jumped into the family’s move way too quickly. They are adapting to a crazy situation way too easily for a family that was first portrayed as average. I’m still sticking with it though, so I hope it gets better.August 1, 2017 at 5:49 pm #1202171928
I’m also halfway through (on episode 5 right now). I usually speed through my binge-watches against my better judgement, but I’m really taking my time with this one…and only really because I have to talk myself into watching the next episode. I mean…this is really boring, right? Everyone is so fucking angry and dark and brooding, shit is escalating way too fast that it doesn’t seem believable, and I’m confused about the motivations of every character outside of the main family. Bateman and Linney are good, but the writing is making their characters near insufferable. I keep telling myself to stop watching, but then I follow it up with hope that things may get better. Maybe I’ll finish this in the next few weeks since there’s not much of anything else on right now anyway.August 1, 2017 at 6:15 pm #1202171960
I only kept watching because of Julia Garner. I didn’t love the show, but I thought the finale was satisfying.August 1, 2017 at 8:42 pm #1202172086
I just realized the son in this show is young Matt MurdockAugust 6, 2017 at 7:10 pm #1202176831
I watched this because of Laura Linney (and here she is also great as usual), but Julia Garner was terrific in this. I hope some awards association throws a nomination.May 14, 2018 at 8:05 pm #1202547164
This was the second/third complete season that Netflix sent on DVD to voters this year, with GLOW and after Godless. The finale and not the pilot was the episode that they mailed to SAG and they seem to be keeping with that strategy for the Emmys, as it is their sole writing submission. They are notably not submitting Peter Mullan. They seem to be really hyping the efforts of (sole directing submission) Jason Bateman, even putting a quote on the back cover that lists contenders by category, which is not something that we have seen in Netflix’s other booklets. Check it out:

They’re stupid af. Not campaigning Peter Mullan?May 15, 2018 at 1:25 am #1202547297
Hmm. I thought Esai Morales was a shoo in for a Guest Actor nod for Ozark. He is phenomenal as the Cartel drug lord. Since he only appeared in four of the ten episodes, I am surprised he is being touted for a supporting actor nomination.May 19, 2018 at 7:37 am #1202549987
