Just finished. Linney better win that Emmy. She’s absolutely incredible. Pelphrey, too, is just brilliant. Really heartbreaking stuff. He somehow manages to ground a very loud, in your face character. Garner continues to be perfect as Ruth – could see her repeating, she has the material. Bateman is very good. He takes a bit of a backseat, and it doesn’t help that his character is the least interesting but he’s good when he has something to work with (episode 4, I think?). He also directs the shit out of the first two episodes. McTeer is great too. I want to predict her but I don’t know who would miss – maybe THT ladies get shut out in supporting. It’s definitely possible because I think the Emmy’s are gonna go big on Ozark this season. The season overall is an improvement on all fronts. Definitely the shows best season so far. It’s not flawless – the Darlene and Wyatt storyline, in particular, is brutal, but it’s so entertaining and thrilling that you just look past that stuff. Could see it taking series, tbh, but I’m sticking with Succession still.March 28, 2020 at 3:01 pm #1203398593
I’m done with the whole season. Laura Linney ruled it. She’s gonna be a huge contender. Riley is right about how episode 9 should be her tape. Tom Pelphrey was also great. This is their best one yet and the fourth season is gonna be exciting. I can see two more seasons for the show.March 29, 2020 at 10:18 am #1203399334
I finished the season. I have never been a huge fan of this show but I like it. Saying that holy damn those last three episodes of season three were perfection to me.March 29, 2020 at 5:41 pm #1203400146
I’m also one of those that just watched show Bc of the actors. But this season was great. Laura Linney was excellent. Pelphrey too.
but I want to give a shout out to Lisa Emery. She sells her crazy in every sceneApril 2, 2020 at 10:08 am #1203406520
Done. This was FIRE! So entertaining whew! When episode 2 became one of the smartest and most suspenseful episodes the show has ever done, I knew this season was the strongest already. That should be Bateman’s directing submission. All of the actors were phenomenal as always, with my favorite being Tom Pelphrey. Boy what a heartbreaking storyline. Episodes 8 and 9 are the best of the series and Pelphrey deserves to win two Emmys for them, one for each episode.
The most pleasant thing to happen was the final scene. Good riddance to that giant bitch Helen! They’ve already set up the next season very nicely for me.
I think Bateman, Linney, Pelphrey (based mostly on performance obviously) and Garner could all be top 2 in their categories and it would be really fucking iconic if all won. Not gonna lie, this show is a real threat to win Drama Series although I’m mostly rooting for Succession.
And… oh yeah… the Darlene & Wyatt thing was vomit- inducing.April 2, 2020 at 10:21 am #1203406538
He more likely to submit episode 8. Episode 9 was more of a showcase for Laura linneyApril 2, 2020 at 11:05 am #1203406594
That’s great. That episode had me crying so it’s a good pick too.
But boy, that opening monologue on eps 9… whew!April 2, 2020 at 12:02 pm #1203406670
Submissions don’t matter.
Any voter who got to episode 8 will also watch episode 9.April 2, 2020 at 1:09 pm #1203406827
I am bipolar and Pelphrey’s arc on the show felt so personal and heartbreaking. He was flawless. Through my first watch of episode nine, I just kept rewiding his opening monologue. The deliver was marvelous. His maniac eyes were something else.April 2, 2020 at 2:00 pm #1203406903
True, But Tom Pelphrey should def submit this as his Emmy reel ! He has deserved one forever, in everything he has done. This arc has shown his brilliance !April 5, 2020 at 9:58 am #1203411021
Just finished this and I’m speechless. What an incredible season!! I agree with everyone praising Linney and Pelphrey because they were absolutely phenomenal. Also that last minute of the finale…April 5, 2020 at 10:34 am #1203411041
Witherspoon was never gonna be a factor for season 2 of Big Little Lies. She had nothing to do in that season.
Linney was just crazy crazy good in season 3. Some of the best acting ever in episode 9 and she communicated it all without dialogue. Incredible. Olivia Colman was very good in “The Crown”, but not award-worthy. I think Aniston is worthy of a win for that boardroom scene (was that episode 3 or 4?), so if she submits that in she’s a threat.
But yeah, Linney was incredible in every episode this season, but I assume she’ll submit episode 9. I think voters will be watching Ozark as a whole, so she should be good for the win.
On another note, I was surprised Julia Garner won an Emmy for season 2. In such a competitive field (not necessarily the people that were nominated, but the drama supporting actress field in general), I was surprised she’s an Emmy winner now. But I think she actually VERY worthy of a win for season 3. She was outstanding. I think she should submit episode 7. She doesn’t have a ton of screen time, but the hospital bed scene alone and the scene with Wyatt should seal it.
I hope this show is competitive for the win. I do think The Crown is VERY worthy. But both those shows deserve to win over Succession.April 5, 2020 at 10:40 am #1203411053

I don’t know about that.

What they should submit:
SERIES: “Boss Fight” “It Came from Michoacán” “Su Casa Es Mi Casa” “BFF” “Fire Pink” “All In”
Jason Bateman “Boss Fight”
Laura Linney “Fire Pink”
Julia Garner “In Case of Emergency”
Janet McTeer “Fire Pink”
Tom Pelphrey “Fire Pink”April 5, 2020 at 2:13 pm #1203411409
