Then you have to see it because I think Zendaya would be second and not Aniston.

Well I am going to see it eventually. I only just started Euphoria yesterday!

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", AMANDA SEYFRIED FOR "MANK", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

@wolfali I cannot believe you talk about every category this year but omit lead actress in a limited series. Haas and Blanchett would be easily ahead of King, and even possibly Spencer from what I’ve heard.

Limited leads have never submitted tapes.

Also, I think Murphy would’ve still been pretty win-competitive with “The Presidential Suite”

Maybe but regardless of who you think would have won there’s no denying the race would have been a lot closer judging by the bombast of Borstein’s tape and the bait of Carden’s.

    S. Actor in a Drama Series – Matt Smith, The Crown

I just saw this. I did his episode analysis that year, and I don’t think that was a winning tape. Dinklage would have probably easily taken it with that finale. And Harbour was probably second.

Oscar FYC -- Give Viola Davis her second Oscar!

Hmm I don’t know. I feel a bit iffy about Dinklage’s tape that year. Maybe Dinklage would have pipped it I don’t know? I don’t even remember what Harbour did in his tape. What leans me towards Smith is how character focused his episode was although like I said The Crown‘s acting chances under the tape system are a bit unknown as they could have either done very well or been too cold for the panel’s liking (although I do think Kirby would have won under the tape system).

Andre Braugher would’ve been the new Doris Roberts under the tape system.

Here are my thoughts on what would have won Series.

    2020

Drama – Ozark (Probably quite easily. I preferred Succession season 2 but Ozark season 3 would have been (deservingly) undeniable under the tape system imo.)

Comedy – What We Do in the Shadows

    2019

Drama – Game of Thrones (but with Bodyguard as a close runner up)

    Comedy – Fleabag

    2018

    Drama – The Crown

Comedy – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (but instead of it having been Maisel vs Barry on the night it would have been a close Maisel vs Atlanta)

    2017

    Drama – The Handmaid’s Tale

    Comedy – Atlanta

    2016

Drama – Game of Thrones (RU: Mr. Robot)

    Comedy – Veep

    2015

Drama – Mad Men (RU: Game of Thrones)

    Comedy –  Veep

    And then Writing/Directing :

    2020

Comedy Writing – “Happy Ending” (Schitt’s Creek)
Comedy Directing – “It’s Comedy or Cabbage” (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)
Drama Writing – “This is Not For Tears” (Succession)
Drama Directing – “Aberfan” (The Crown)

    2019

Comedy Writing – “Janet(s)” (The Good Place)
    Comedy Directing – “Ronny/Lily” (Barry)
Drama Writing – “Episode 1” (Bodyguard)
Drama Directing – “The Iron Throne” (Game of Thrones)

    2018

Comedy Writing – “Pilot” (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)
Comedy Directing – “Teddy Perkins” (Atlanta)
Drama Writing – “START” (The Americans)
Drama Directing – “The Dragon and the Wolf” (Game of Thrones)

    2017

    Comedy Writing – “B.A.N.” (Atlanta)
    Comedy Directing – “Groundbreaking” (Veep)
Drama Writing – “The Soviet Division” (The Americans)
Drama Directing – “Chapter One : The Vanishing of Will Byers” (Stranger Things)

    2016

    Comedy Writing – “Mother” (Veep)
Comedy Directing – “Kissing Your Sister” (Veep)
    Drama Writing – “eps1.0 hellofriend.mov” (Mr Robot)
Drama Directing – “Battle of the Bastards” (Game of Thrones)

    2015

Comedy Writing – “Election Night” (Veep)
    Comedy Directing – “Testimony” (Veep)
Drama Writing – “Person to Person” (Mad Men) (RU: Five-O, Better Call Saul)
Drama Directing – “Mother’s Mercy” (Game of Thrones)

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", AMANDA SEYFRIED FOR "MANK", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).
