    “HalloVeen”, Brooklyn Nine-Nine
    Written by Dan Goor

This show very quietly had an outstanding season. For me, this episode was the best of many gems. A perfect balance of slapstick, snark, and heart.

“PTSDee” – It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

That one was elegible for last year’s Emmys. It aired early 2017.

Oh. good to know. In that case, “Alligator Man” – Atlanta would be my choice.

I still can’t believe I’m the only one so far to mention Rick and Morty on this thread. No animated television show has ever been nominated for a Writing Emmy in spite of being eligible. If any animated show has ever been genuinely and undeniably deserving of such a prestigious nomination, it is surely a season of television as perfectly executed as Rick and Morty Season 3.

I for one want to see “The Ricklantis Mixup” as the show’s entry in Animated Program – and in order to be eligible for the Comedy Series Writing category, the episode’s writers would have to specifically withdraw their names from the Animated Program entry, which I don’t see happening. “Pickle Rick” for writing, perhaps? (Note that the writer(s) of the Animated Program episode can enter a different episode in Comedy Series writing.)

A lot of my top choices have already been suggested so I will go with Episode 8 of The End of the Fucking World.

Thank you everyone for all of your suggestions so far. You’ve put so many new titles on my radar that I’m going to have to just hunker down this weekend and start my binge. Not a bad prospect.

I just wanted to clear one thing up. Despite what Louis C.K. may have done or what Roseanne Barr tweeted this morning, I try my best to evaluate the work apart from the personal conduct of those involved, and I will go into this weekend with that in mind.

Thank you all again, and please keep those suggestions of your one best episode coming.

Guess I need to rescind my “Roseanne” suggestion. Now choosing my second option.

What about “Grandpa Jack?” I think that one would be a great episode submission for Sean Hayes. I even liked the Writing and I am not a fan of the show in general. Just so we’re clear, Rick and Morty is my ideal #1 recommendation for Writing, but I’m just curious what made “Three Wise Men” better than that other W&G one.

B/c it’s what I liked the best? You can only pick one episode, and that’s what I chose. Done.
