Since The Expanse sadly wasn’t submitted for anything and Altered Carbon didn’t submit that well-written of an episode, here is my NEW OFFICIAL ONE AND ONLY DRAMA WRITING RECOMMENDATION:

Peaky Blinders “The Duel” written by Steven Knight

I agree with “START” (The Americans, FX) and, in case you’re deliberating, I’ll write out some reasons why.

“START” was an immensely satisfying climax to a six year show that got better as it went along, created complex plot threads that all had to be resolved and tied up in ways that made sense to the characters and to the thematic elements of the show. “START” did all of these: remained truthful to the characters and the plot while providing some shock twists and emotionally resonant moments. The script provided some incredible moments for the actors, including a minimalistic eleven minute sequence which is one of the most impressive scenes I’ve ever seen on television.

Aside from that, ‘The Americans’ has been vastly overlooked by the Emmy voters, aside from Season 4’s Drama Series nod and a few wins for Margo Martindale (which makes sense because she’s excellent), but it would lovely for this flawlessly crafted, perfect finale to be honoured with a writing nomination.
