Pretend that you are an Emmy voter. I actually have no idea how this will go. Do not be discouraged from voting if you have not seen all or any of this season, because it is not like all of the Emmy voters will have either, so it might actually help the accuracy of the poll. Results last year:
    – 80% Riz Ahmed (winner) / 20% John Turturro (loser)
    – 70% Nicole Kidman (winner) / 30% Reese Witherspoon (loser)
    – 61% Susan Sarandon (loser) / 39% Jessica Lange (loser)
    – 58% Sterling K. Brown (winner) / 42% Milo Ventimiglia (loser)

Jones. I don’t think I would want McRaney to win again for a very limited performance this time round.

On the one hand, Jones definitely did not do anything this season. On the other, it does not seem right that McRaney gets two Emmys and Jones gets zero. But makeup wins are a slippery slope and McRaney won his first fair and square. So I ultimately have to vote McRaney. But there is nothing wrong with awards history influencing your vote for Jones in this poll. There have been times at the Emmys when it was less about who was best and more about whether anyone was sufficiently good, which I would not say that McRaney was. Situations in which that was in doubt tended to be the ones most affected by external factors.

First of all, I would want neither one to win. I personally would go with Goode. But out of these two, I would vote for Jones because overall, he is still the more effective character on the show and there is still some good will from last year. McRaney was great in “The Car” but 5 minutes should not win you an Emmy!

I have not seen any of the 2nd Season of This Is Us, but of the 2 I voted for Ron Cephas Jones simply to spread the wealth. My heart still goes with Matthew Goode for his haunting, subtle, and mesmerizing work on The Crown.

Neither of them deserve it, but since I had to vote for one of them I’ll vote for Cephas Jones because he was soo good last year.

5 minutes is still more than Kelly Jenrette had. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was even more than what Cherry Jones had. No way Cherry had more than 6 minutes of screen time. Needless to say, I 100% agree with your “cameos shouldn’t win Emmys” sentiment.

Jones and Jenrette being nominated is beyond ridiculous. Both did zero. I don’t know what Jenrette did to be nominated over Tomei but damn. If either one of them wins, I will start pulling out my hair.

Cameron Britton should be winning this easily. It’s not even close.

you obviously have no clue and cannot recognise Jenrette’s breathtaking turn in THT, a limited performance that is the definition of scene-stealer and Emmy-worthy

McRaney had more to do, Jones did nothing this season, both were fine, neither deserve a nomination. But for the purpose of this poll, I went with McRaney. I would personally go with:

    1) Cameron Britton
    2) Matthew Goode
    3) Jimmi Simpson
    4) Gerald McRaney
    5) Ron Cephas Jones
    6) F. Murray Abraham

I’d be happy with Britton or Goode, fine with Simpson, and dissapointed with the other 3.

I’m surprised Jones is winning this, I can’t remember him at all this year but McRaney had a lasting impact for me, even if it was just a few minutes. For me McRaney is easily the best performance on the show and I wouldn’t mind him winning a 2nd.
