Key & Peele. Grace and Frankie. Seemingly inseparable pairs, yet the Emmys nominated Key twice without Peele and Frankie twice without Grace. Critics’ Choice also nominated Ilana twice without Abbi for Broad City. With how packed the category is this year and with Shailene as a wild card, we need to be prepared for the possibility of only one of Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman getting nominated. I read comments about how certain people might prefer one performance, but let us settle this once and for all. If you were a member of the Television Academy and had space for only one on your ballot for whatever reason, who would you choose? Please vote in the poll even if you have only seen an episode or two; that will make our sample more representative, as many voters will surely make their decision not off of the complete miniseries.

I thought that they were about even in the first season, but sooner would have nominated Abbi for the second season, for her dual role as the singing Val. The third season seemed more like an Ilana season and Abbi’s impression of Ilana made me appreciate how much the latter is always “on”.
April 4, 2017 at 3:55 pm #1202055239I feel fairly confident that both will deservedly get nominated but for those who watched the whole series it’s undeniable that Kidman comes to the forefront in the back half.

You’re a punishing dominant when it comes to Kidman.

Kidman does some career best work here, and I think she’s at least one of the 5 best actresses of her generation. She should win the Emmy.

What’s your list look like? I think she’ll get in on her name, the overall popularity of the show, and despite the fact that I don’t care for her, she did receive a lot of acclaim.
