Love it; literally everything she said was correct.May 1, 2021 at 9:07 am #1204238114
Her behavior is extremely unprofessional. If she were a man, she would’ve been Me Too’d.
And complaining about 40k an episode is entitlement. She had no prior experience as a producer before Pose.May 1, 2021 at 9:26 am #1204238155
So THR critics registered her review as B+ on RT, but it was somehow counted as 50 on metacritic…May 1, 2021 at 12:28 pm #1204238303

Billy is coming for that Emmy!
Dominique has improved as an actress!May 3, 2021 at 10:30 am #1204240729
First two episodes were great. Billy Porter is getting Emmy reel after Emmy reel here, so I hope he’s back in the conversation this year and not just as an also-ran. Much improved performances from MJ Rodriguez and Dominique Jackson. I think I prefer the Blanca/Elektra relationship to be more adversarial than this, but time heals all wounds, I guess. I see where the criticisms are about the season operating at breakneck speed. They’re trying to cram ten episodes into seven, and this is the result of that. The time jump didn’t bother me and felt mostly organic. Lemar being such a moustache-twirling villain is a bit much, but the House of Khan serves the same function that House of Abundance did in season 1. Jeremy Pope’s saddled with a bland role, which is unfortunate. Loved the dinner scenes with the parents, the group dinner after watching the OJ car chase, and of course, the intervention scene, which was everythinggg. Pray Tell was absolutely vicious, especially toward boytoy Ricky, and I lived lol. Also interesting how adamant Pray Tell was against Candy’s lip-syncing idea, but here he is having to do just that in the new ballroom era. The 90s-specific soundtrack was just right, and probably expensive. Toni Braxton, EnVogue, Robin S., Mariah, Whitney, etc. What a time! Damon can stay gone until the finale. And poor Cubby. That was difficult to watch. Excited where the season goes!May 3, 2021 at 2:51 pm #1204241283
I agree with everything that was said. I’m good with a time jump to season 3, but the time flying in season 3 is a bit jarring. Billy Porter is doing wonderful work and Intervention was an amazing Emmy reel but he has the family episode as well. The raw nerve emotion he displayed as his mood deteriorated was chilling.
MJ Rodriguez is truly the heart of the show. I love how they’ve had Blanca mature over the seasons. The love that Blanca has for her friends, who are her family, is touching.
Dominique Jackson has very much improved as an actress and I like what they’ve done with Elektra. She’s blunt with a purpose now instead of just mean.
The addiction of Angel and Lulu is something that shouldn’t have been as rushed. It seems like they got addicted and clean in the span of a day and a half.
But overall, it was a very good opening two episodes.May 3, 2021 at 5:46 pm #1204241509
Having seen all seven episodes (I promise no spoilers), I will simply say that this show really stuck the landing. It’s emotional, devastating, and oozes fabulousness. MJ has a really solid tape in the finale, and Angel Curiel has a beautiful arc and gets to play a level of depth we haven’t seen before.
But I’m telling y’all, Porter is truly coming for that Emmy. The intervention, the bottle episode at home, and the finale all give him the spotlight he so richly deserves. If I were a voter, Best Drama Actor would be a slam dunk for him.May 5, 2021 at 6:54 pm #1204244164
Girl, the second episode is the definition of a tape. Explosion, intimacy, lipsync. Billy Porter WORKED, honey! Get that Emmy!May 9, 2021 at 8:09 am #1204248167
Episode Title: “The Trunk”
Synopsis: After she is unjustly arrested, Elektra convinces Blanca to aid in disposing of the trunk in her closet before the police find it.
