Oh, I know the why, I just didn’t think it was successful from a storytelling aspect is all 🙂June 11, 2019 at 11:42 pm #1202934062
“Pose” gets political! I dig it. Explosive season premiere!June 12, 2019 at 12:27 am #1202934132
Enjoyed the premiere, I loved all the aids related scenes, particularly the protest scene. This show can be so informative at times, I love learning this history. I also loved everything about Indya Moore in this episode. Moore has a legit chance at the nomination, this season dropping during voting will help. I think Porter is pretty much safe for a nom. I’m having trouble deciding if I should follow the emmys and put Porter in lead for my personal awards or keep him in supporting. He seems more lead this season so might as well put him there for season 1 if he’s gonna be co lead the rest of the shows run. As far as I’m concerned he has no competition either way.
What are this show’s chances for a costume nomination? Billy Porter said in the variety actors on actors interview that the costumes weren’t created but they were found. Does that hurt it’s chances with awards since not very many costumes are actually original designs? I have no idea how many shows do that compared to creating totally original costumes.June 13, 2019 at 5:05 am #1202935645
I wish they would’ve re-shot the scene with Blanca and her boss. Blanca’s comeback line to her boss’s insult was a bit weak and then she walks right into the door instead of out the door.June 15, 2019 at 8:52 pm #1202940005
Great and explosive premiere. This was the best Indya Moore performance in the show and I will be so happy if the Emmys show some love for her.June 17, 2019 at 3:10 pm #1202942057
It has been renewed for season 3.June 18, 2019 at 8:23 am #1202942771
I liked seeing the characters continue to evolve, and it looks like just about everyone will be given even more to chew on than last season. A few too many ballroom scenes though. I think things run best at a solid hour runtime. After seeing all that Billy Porter’s doing here, could be actually make a legitimate run at Lead Actor Drama? He’s making quite the impression right where it counts at Emmy voting. I guess this was the smarter move with “Apocalypse” going supporting, but I wish the latter weren’t in contention at all so he’d have a better go of it in supporting, since “Apocalypse” isn’t competitive for him. No Evan Peters here either it seems. I’ll miss his scenes with Indya Moore, which were the standouts of season 1 along with anything Pray Tell was in. Can’t wait to see where this all goes!June 18, 2019 at 8:27 am #1202942777

This episode was really doing the most. There was no subtlety in this episode whatsoever.
I don’t know if it was my TV, but the sound mixing was awful. The music was so loud I could hardly hear any dialogue.
I appreciate Jackson’s haminess more than most, but this episode was a lot.
I hope Sandra Bernhard isn’t in every episode because she’s really make a fantastic guest nominee or even winner based on what she’s had so far.
MJ Rodriguez was excellent tonight. I really hope she makes the best actress cut because she’ll have no chance next year.
I’m glad to see they brought Trace Lynette back. She was robbed of a nomination for Transparent. I hope they give her material this time. Unless I need to get my eyes checked, was that Zachary Levy in the Clip for the next episode? Possible guest nominee? Speaking of guest nominees, I’m penciling in Lupone in now.June 18, 2019 at 8:53 pm #1202943676
“WINTOUR IS COMING.”
I cannotttt!!!June 20, 2019 at 6:48 am #1202945369
Congrats to “Pose” for a co-leading 4 TCA NOMINATIONS!June 22, 2019 at 10:42 am #1202948071
Somewhat bombastic episode from Janet Mock this time, but the ensemble is really coming through in this new season so far. I think Billy Porter enlivens every scene that he touches. It’s a stunning, career-defining performance as Pray Tell, and I don’t want to see it end. Indya Moore is just…you can’t take your eyes off of her. As much as I miss her scenes with Evan Peters, I think this new modeling storyline might be a strong one for her. Dominique Jackson slays me as Elektra. House of Wintour is electrifying, bitches! Pun fully intended lol. Her line delivering isn’t as shaky as last season, and even though I clearly see where this “dominatrix” thread is going already with her going back to Blanca for help again, I’m kinda living for it all the same. MJ Rodriguez has more to do now, and most of it is working. Still exhibits stilted acting in stretches, but with screen partners like Porter and Sandra Bernhard (who knew she could be this good?), Rodriguez has to rise to the occasion. As for Patti LuPone, well, that’s quite a first impression, isn’t it lol? Those two clashing all season should be delightful, at the very least.June 22, 2019 at 11:26 pm #1202948395
Quick anecdote: I heard a song playing in the background of one of the ballroom scenes, and I wondered, why is that song from “SNL” about the ladies room playing in this scene from 1990? Sure enough, this was a real song from an 80s group called Klymaxx (yes, that’s how it’s spelled) titled “Meeting in the Ladies Room.” Found the video on YouTube, and boy did “SNL” capture the craziness of this beautifully. I should have known that “SNL” wouldn’t have been this creative to think of something this singular on its own lol. “The More You Know.”June 23, 2019 at 1:38 pm #1202948870

By not knowing that song, you’ve now made me feel 150 years old haha
