Okay, so this is in reality “American Horror Story: Ratched.” Got it. I could have then calibrated my expectations accordingly. This continues a trend of using well-known IP that bears no resemblance to the original inspiration, whether it’s a prequel, sequel, reboot, whatever. “Perry Mason” was a recent culprit. With dramas like “Bates Motel” and “Hannibal,” the homages and resemblances were front and center. This doesn’t even try to mirror anything from Kesey’s novel or the film. It’s just tired Murphy camp through and through. Some will love that, and others will hate it. The cast tho! Sophie Okonedo, Finn Wittrock, Sharon Stone, Harriet Samson Harris, Judy Davis!!! (I screamed at the peach scene between her and Paulson), Cynthia Nixon, Corey Stoll, and Jon Jon Briones, who should have been Emmy-nominated for “Versace,” but voters were too lazy to get to his end episodes. I couldn’t help but think about Louise Fletcher through watching the trailer. Paulson is taking on the legacy of one of the most iconic film villains of all time! As crazy-talented as she is, there are still limits. I’m at least in for the pilot.August 5, 2020 at 8:34 am #1203627689
I have more faith in this, given it doesn’t look like Ryan Murphy wrote much of this, correct? Plus this might be one of the strongest casts he assembled. I mean this show boasts FOUR Tony winning actresses (Harriet Harris, Cynthia Nixon, Sophie Okonedo, and Amanda Plummer).August 5, 2020 at 1:32 pm #1203628376
I’m excited to see what Amanda Plummer does because she a brilliant actress and one of my favourites but is extremely underrated.September 8, 2020 at 2:02 am #1203692113
I have a feeling the Globe is going to go to Paulson if this is a hit or if she’s acclaimed (I’m expecting the latter at the minute). Still think the Globe is between her, Colman and Coel (if she is in this category) unless this show flops really badly critically (and I mean worse than Hollywood bad).

The new trailer looks really good! This is one of my most anticipated releases for this season.September 8, 2020 at 7:24 am #1203692465
The new trailer looks better than the first, Paulson looks 🔥🔥 and netflix seems to be pushing it, so maybe they are confident! Anyways, the embargo lifts on monday and I can’t waitSeptember 8, 2020 at 7:49 am #1203692506
Sarah Paulson coming for Olivia Colman’s Emmy.September 8, 2020 at 8:16 am #1203692553
Neither Ozark or The Crown will win SAG ensemble. This is (and Paulson is winning SAG + the Globe)!

Its too over-the-top for Nurse Ratched. I wish she played an original nurse. Too many colors, costumes are too loud, and the acting is a bit much in the trailer.September 8, 2020 at 8:54 am #1203692659
I love this new trailer. It made me more excited about the show. Well, the show is obviously different from what we know on One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, but it really felt likes its own. It’s like Bates Motel to Psycho or Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal to the Hannibal movies.September 8, 2020 at 10:13 am #1203692943
It looks like they spent a lot of money on this show. The costumes and production design are incredible. Can’t wait to watch Paulson.September 8, 2020 at 10:20 am #1203692956
This is at the very least getting the same amount of nominations as Hollywood.
It’s a shame it won’t win Costume Design though. There’s no way any show (not even Maisel) is beating The Crown in that category when they literally have the most iconic dress of all time in this season.

Ari Aster made a horror movie on broad daylight so I don’t get the criticism behind colorful costumes.September 8, 2020 at 10:22 am #1203692964
There’s criticism behind the costumes? What the-
