I would think that it would be a variety special.
January 5, 2021 at 7:17 pm #1203965147Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) with the actors in the movie/limited categories.
January 12, 2021 at 6:56 pm #1203980550Mr. Mayor’s been doing well for NBC.
Intitial airing of first two episodes on Tuesday Jan 5 open with (4.92, 0.6) & (4.29, 0.5) respectively, the highest ratings for a new show since Will & Grace in 2017 and the highest for non-revival since The Good Place in 2016.
Friday night re-runs also pulled (2.87, 0.4) and (2.19, 0.3), respectively. The Pilot reairing on Sunday night highs of 6.09m and a 1.5 rating.
January 13, 2021 at 3:26 am #1203981029With Zendaya looking likely in Movies, I think they won’t bother nominating her for Euphoria special.

January 13, 2021 at 10:39 am #1203981771I wonder if SAG will work as a precursor to Emmys more than ever this year considering how close the ceremony will be to noms (assuming Emmys noms will still be in July).
If something like Ted Lasso wins Ensemble it’s hard to see it lose momentum in just 3 months for example.

Wow we literally said the same thing two posts apart!
With all seriousness I agree with this. If Taylor-Joy wins SAG, Ted Lasso ensemble and/or The Crown ensemble then it will be hard to see them lose momentum by the Emmys. If Taylor-Joy loses SAG though but wins the Globe that could hinder her campaign. Especially considering that Limited/Movie Actress is going to be ultra competitive. Not only do we have Coel, Kidman, Mara, Peet and Taylor-Joy (probably the only lock of the five ladies for a nomination) vying for nominations from 2020 shows but we also have Erivo, Garner, Kidman (again), Olsen and Winslet from 2021 shows.
Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!
January 13, 2021 at 10:57 am #1203981849Oh I missed your post lol, sorry. I agree.
January 13, 2021 at 8:37 pm #1203982576Ted Lasso would be a very worthy ensemble winner, rooting for it.

January 18, 2021 at 9:45 am #1203989700What We Do in the Shadows just got 4/5 of it’s core cast nominated at Critics Choice (poor Novak). Hopefully coming for that ensemble nomination here.
