Gillian Anderson is now the second person to win Drama Actress for two different roles (after Julianna Margulies)

SAG loves its vets. Not the newbies/younger actors — unless you’re starring in The Queen’s Gambit.

O’Connor and Page not being able to win over Bateman is shocking.

Page? He was lucky to be nominated. It was always between Josh and Jason.

I loved Ozark season 3, but c’mon, Jason Bateman?

He is so limited. He can’t cry!

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

This is objectively not true, he is a terrific actor and he gets hate only and exclusively in this forum.

It’s funny that after wanting Gillian to win for so many performances over the years (particularly for Hannibal), she completely sweeps for a performance I didn’t even like that much. She’s such a massive lock I’d literally bet my house on her winning the Emmy.

Also, tonight proved to me that Linney likely won’t win a major award for Ozark unless she coattails in a sweep. She gives the best performance of the cast but her character just isn’t liked enough.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

    … is not(?)

I mean he’s a previous winner and a very respected actor. Both of his competitors are newcomer in the industry, so it’s very understandable, especially when his performance was distributed by streaming service.

Loved the one-hour format. No nonsense, no horseshit; just clips, tributes and acceptances. Huzzah.

So basically what we learnt today is Emma would have lost supporting against Gillian and that Josh O’Connor isn’t that strong.

Which brings me to what I’ve been saying multiple times, Laura Linney completely lacks passion for Ozark. Bateman winning again and not her displays once again a lack of interest from voters to award her. I know people here will try to say next year she is frontrunner, but I won’t buy it.  Not against people like Aniston (that I still believe was ahead of Linney at the recent Emmys) or Oh for her final season.

Also, a SAG fav remains a SAG fav, even in supporting. Look out for Julianna Margulies to take it next year.

Who are these voters who will not let The Crown or Ozark take both awards, but are fine with Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom doing that?

But then don’t award it in ensemble. It doesn’t make sense.

doubt it will have a major effect on Emmy outcomes as both ATJ and TQG remain popular, but i am seeing some sentiment of ‘i like Anya but Coel/Washington should’ve won’ on social media
