What are your preductions for who will host this season?
Which former hosts do you want to see return?
Which celebs do you want to see host for the first time?August 5, 2016 at 10:36 pm #1201903663
Margot Robbie is going to host. I want Arianna Grande to return. Jennifer Lawrence should too but write her own monologue this time. Kristen Wiig. Tom Hanks should also he is having a big film year.August 5, 2016 at 10:47 pm #1201903664
I want Rachel Bloom to host, she can write a really cool song for the show and perform it! It would be so much fun!
For your Goldderby Film Awards consideration: Isle of Dogs for every category, especially Music Score for Alexandre Desplat!August 7, 2016 at 1:26 pm #1201904031
Rachel Bloom. Kat Dennings. Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. Emily Blunt. Jake Gyllenhall.
I also want the return of Kristen Wiig, Emma Stone, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Justin Timberlake.August 8, 2016 at 1:09 pm #1201904413
Definitely Margot Robbie – she would be fantastic.August 8, 2016 at 1:15 pm #1201904419
I want some older talent to host, Sally field or Meryl Streep. Even though I am. It sure it would do great with ratings. But let’s be honest, nobody is doing great with snl ratings lately.August 8, 2016 at 1:57 pm #1201904463
Meryl Streep and Sarah Paulson would be great first-time hosts.August 8, 2016 at 3:39 pm #1201904542
Lily Tomlin please.August 8, 2016 at 7:55 pm #1201904593
Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.August 9, 2016 at 12:38 am #1201904614
That’s a blow losing a strong utility player like Taran Killam. He had another year on his contract and was just let go. That’s too bad. It seemed like they were using Jay Pharoah less last season, besides doing his impressions (Dr. Carson, Jay-Z, and sometimes Obama). Yet we’re still stuck with Kyle Mooney doing his shitty digital shorts and Beck Bennett playing that baby man SMDH.August 9, 2016 at 9:00 am #1201904704
The writing needs to REALLY improve. It was a good thing when they demoted Colin Jost from head writer, but it’s still not up to Tina Fey era levels. Heck, it’s not even up to Seth Myers era levels. Firing Killam is a head scratcher. I wish they would shake things up and invigorate and not think only white Ivy League guys can be funny. Is it time for Lorne to maybe not step down but at least step back?
And what kind of pictures of high level folks does Keenan Thompson have? He plays the same character in every single sketch and has done so for what feels like 53 years now.August 9, 2016 at 11:15 am #1201904741
Killam was one of my favs…..this stinks.August 10, 2016 at 1:57 pm #1201905314
I feel really bad for Taran Killam! I wonder if there was something else behind the scenes that both Killam and NBC are keeping private. He was one of the best actors on the show, was in almost every skit. Ala Bill Hader. Truly a head-scratcher.
I liked Jay Pharaoh but he was mostly an impressionist. Not a huge loss IMO.
As long as Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong return, I’m a happy camper!August 11, 2016 at 6:22 pm #1201905923
Take our new poll about who should host SNL for the 1st time this season. You’ve got 16 people to consider (some very surprising that haven’t hosted before).
