That last skit was just so weird but still an A+ episode for me.

Woof, general consensus in other parts is that was one of the worst of the season. I think Maya can and should forget about a guest Emmy, as should Wiig and Rock, all former cast members.

Sketch wise this one was kinda a clunker but Jack was one of the best musical guests they’ve had this season.

    Dear Emmys Voters

Television has never been better and it’s a pandemic year.

    Be bold, not boring.

Maya deserves the Emmy just Bc of the Beyoncé skit.

also, this year comedy guest seems kinda bared so I would count out SNl.

shows that get nominations in those category are missing this season due to filming.

I’m honestly surprised this episode’s been negatively received, I loved it. Maya’s one of those people that from the moment she arrives on screen, she’s just ridiculously funny. She had me in stitches from the moment she said Cece Vuvuzela. LOVED The Maya-ing, Beyonce Hot Wings and the Barfly contest (Cecily continually walking into the camera was such a great gag). Was less keen on the Kamala skit with Martin Short, which seemed like an idea that went nowhere.

The monologue with the newbies though really highlighted how much airtime they don’t get – was this the only time Punkie Johnson appeared?

Looks like Edith Puthie’s up to recurring – another win for Ego, but when the joke’s the character name where do you go from that?

    FYC:
Emmy: Ego Nwodim ("SNL"), Nico Santos ("Superstore"), Lolly Adefope ("Shrill"), MJ Rodriguez ("Pose")
BAFTA: Leila Farzad ("I Hate Suzie")

Daniel Kaluuya was excellent! He really should do more comedies, b/c this taps into an unforeseen talent that should be utilized more often. He elevated middling premises with his sheer exuberance, and that scorching monologue! Kudos, good sir! I did hear his accent slip through when he was really excited in one of his “American” voices. Who knew that the highlights of the season so far would be two POC Brit guys who excel at sketch comedy? The more you know. “Weekend Update” was another highlight with Colin Jost’s killer jabs at Matt Gaetz, the I own a boat guy, and the couple at the end. You’ll never think of custard the same way again lmao. St. Vincent’s performances were weird, and her new persona is jarring. The second song was catchy, at least. Carey next week!!!

The creative writing sketch was the most I’ve laughed all season.

Emmys FYC: Alan Tudyk in “Resident Alien”, Billie Piper in “I Hate Suzie”, Ego Nwodim in “Saturday Night Live”, Kaley Cuoco in “Harley Quinn”

“Dickinson”, “P-Valley”, “Pose” & “Superstore” in all categories

Who do you think deserve to be nominated in the supporting actor/actresses categories?

With the comedy field so weak, I think they will take even more spots than usual…

You should see Skins (which was arguably Kaluuya’s breakthrough over here). He has great comedic timing in that as “Posh Kenneth”.

Who do you think deserve to be nominated in the supporting actor/actresses categories?

I’d personally only consider Fineman and Strong (McKinnon was serviceable, Rudolph whilst great had very poor material this time round) but I am predicting Rudolph, McKinnon, Fineman and Strong (in that order).

Supporting actor I’d only consider Bowen Yang but I am predicting both him and Thompson.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

Maya for guest. Kate will get in as usual (and she is great), crossing my fingers for Cecily and – though unlikely – Ego. Then Bowen and Kenan in Actor.

I think Chloe’s own impressions are better on IG than on the show itself – I’m not a fan of the Britney.

“FaceTime with Marianne and Connell” is better than anything’s that’s been put on air.
