Great showcase for the ensemble. All three plots were strong. I liked seeing the “Jazzagals” get some screentime together. It’s interesting to me how some of the characters I thought would be marginal have turned into such rich and fully formed creations now. Jennifer Robertson is so good here and does a great deal with what’s given to her. Johnny’s scenes with Stevie and Roland with all the harassment training scenes were fun. David and Alexis’s scenes were the best of the episode. Sometimes I really believe that Dan Levy and Annie Murphy are siblings. That’s how amazing their chemistry together is! I’m glad they’re keeping Daniel and Patrick together too. Top-notch work here!February 15, 2019 at 7:02 am #1202777224
Dan Levy needs all the awards recognition he can get. He is better than ever before this season.
Also, not sure what happened that allowed them to drop a single F bomb in every episode, but it is always so well integrated and elicits a laugh from me.February 15, 2019 at 6:52 pm #1202777952
Episode 2 this season was an insane showcase for Catherine O’Hara. That cold open alone (of her returning from her work trip) should win her an Emmy.
Granted, saying that, I’m well aware, the phenom that is JLD is coming back with the final episodes of Veep. She probably obliterate everyone.

Another strong showcase for Catherine O’Hara. Can’t wait to see how this community production of “Cabaret” turns out! Alexis has to play Sally Bowles, right lol?February 23, 2019 at 6:49 pm #1202786923
I am going to see the cast at a Q&A tomorrow night. I’m so excited!February 25, 2019 at 5:06 pm #1202794775

Darling Emmyfan, how was it? Was Annie Murphy as adorable in person as she is on screen?February 25, 2019 at 5:51 pm #1202794831
The live Q&A show was great. Dan Levy was the moderator and each person was funny. Annie Murphy told of how she was struggling as an actress when she got the role.February 27, 2019 at 4:57 pm #1202798027
Episode Title: “The Hospies”
Synopsis: Johnny and Stevie attend the regional hospitality awards; Moira does everything in her power to stop Alexis from auditioning for “Cabaret.”

Emily Hampshire is an unsung hero on this show, so it was nice seeing her getting extra screentime like this. Too bad Emir turned out to be a shit. I wanna know what happened to the thruple dude! They were together like last season! I liked him with both of them lol. Alexis’s “Cabaret” audition was one of the best things Annie Murphy has ever done on the series. David and Patrick’s thread with Ronnie was okay, but slight. This was a very good episode otherwise.March 6, 2019 at 6:11 pm #1202806752
Episode Title: “The M.V.P.”
Synopsis: David subs in for the baseball game; Moira runs a rehearsal, pushing Stevie over the edge.

David playing baseball is as funny as it sounds, so that saved the premise for that thread. I’m genuinely curious to see how Stevie fares in the Moira-directed “Cabaret” performance. Nice ensemble episode, but otherwise mainly filler.
