First trailer dropped today for the new season. Bizarre not having Emmy Rossum around, but it looks like the Gallaghers are still up to their old antics.

Weak season premiere. Without Emmy Roasum, things felt toothless and pointless. Lip becoming a father might prove to be something worthwhile seeing, b/c I’m sensing a dark turn in that storyline. Other than that, I don’t know. They’re really stretching to give everyone storylines and adequate material. Hoping for much better in the coming episodes.

Liked this more than the season premiere. It felt more streamlined with a better idea with where the season is heading. Ian and Mickey’s scenes felt removed and tacked on, yet I did enjoy checking in on their unique situation. Lip’s scenes with the new baby were especially poignant. I liked that he named the baby after his alcoholic professor who forced him into rehab. The scene where Lip almost dropped the baby in the bathroom was tough to watch. Debbie’s arc is just meh. Not the actress’s fault for being saddled with nonsense, but still. I’m curious to see what Frank does as “head of the household” lol. Carl and Liam, ship them off to year-round boarding school lol (but of course, this family can’t remotely afford that). This episode faired okay without Fiona around since it was so overstuffed. It would be a great opportunity to amp up V and Kevin as surrogates, just sayin’.
