“Big Little Lies” just earned 6 Golden Globe noms. “The Thorn Birds” and “L.A. Law” previously scored 8 noms apiece. What is the record for the most Golden Globes TV nominations in a single year? Does anybody know? Thanks!

Glee’s second season got 5 nominations. The West Wing had 5 nominations twice. The Sopranos had 5 nominations for its first season I think. Will & Grace had 5 nominations four different times.

Come to think of it there are a lot of shows with 5 nominations.

Angels in America had 7 nominations. But I don’t know one that got 9 nominations or more.

I don’t know any figures but I’m assuming at some point The Golden Girls probably had at least five nominations right? I assume at some point White, Arthur, McClanahan, Getty were all nominated and the show probably got Comedy Series nod as well right?

The first two seasons got series and all four got into comedy lead.

All in the Family was able to pull off 5 Golden Globe nominations on 3 different occasions (1972, 1973, 1974), and The Mary Tyler Moore Show also scored 5 nominations in 1973.

Rich Man Poor Man got six.

(I’d have guessed Roots but it only got two shockingly.)

Eight nominations if the most ever, only achieved as you say by The Thorn Birds and L.A. Law.

Three shows have achieved seven nominations, Angels in America, ER and again L.A. Law.

For six nominations: Rich Man, Poor Man, Taxi (twice) and again L.A. Law (and now Big Little Lies).

According to my records 22 different programs have achieved five nominations (many multiple times) among them Will & Grace (four times), All in the Family (three times), Alice, E.R., Sex and the City, The Golden Girls, The Waltons, The West Wing (all twice) and again L.A Law (just the once).
