I think both What We Do in the Shadows and The Great are going to explode in a similar way to Succession this year in acting. I also see a scenario where The Politician gets all three of Light, Midler and Platt in.

I think Dead to Me will make elegibility

There is no news on its production so I haven’t included it in my predictions for now. All the shows in my predictions either have started filming or were almost finished before the lockdown, are scheduled to start production in the foreseeable future or already have an air date. As Dead to Me doesn’t have any of those I haven’t included it in my predictions.

I haven’t included Ozark either as I don’t think Netflix is going to want to push four or five shows in Drama Series (they also have the new Shonda Rhimes period drama Bridgerton alongside Ratched, The Crown and Stranger Things) after losing Series this year to HBO and I think either Ozark or Stranger Things (if not both) will miss eligibility.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Politician Season 2 was so ridiculously buzzless (Netflix made next to no effort at all). Platt isn’t happening

I don’t know whether you can say for sure that Platt isn’t happening. I mean The Politician had no Netflix campaign behind it and got Midler in and became Netflix’s most nominated Comedy this year (it got more nominations than Dead to Me and Space Force!) It Russian Doll and Dead to Me don’t make it back on time it may end up being Netflix’s big push at the Emmys.

However Gwyneth Paltrow and the rest of the non Light, Midler and Platt cast are not happening ever.

Can’t believe I didn’t notice this – definitive proof it should have been a campaign priority

I think Paulson and Ramirez are safe. This year showed that no matter the reception of Ryan Murphy and David E.Kelley shows they can still propel at least one performer to a nomination. Considering Paulson’s status as an Emmy darling and the praise Ramirez has already received from members of the HFPA I think their performances would have to be really really bad or their shows would have to be big flops for them to miss.

    No 🙁

Her only miracle is if nothing else begins to film and she gets in a line-up of 6 (which isn’t happening).

Considering The Kominsky Method and Dead to Me‘s overall nominations GLOW, The Politician and Sex Education would all fare better with at least two of them entering series lineup. Their drama priorities were on point and each of them got in to series and received at least 8 nominations.
