The nominations Euphoria received this year were very well deserved, but the show itself isn’t really worthy of a series nomination and I doubt it gets in next time. It’s a teen drama after all. Zendaya got in thanks to the current climate and the crafts tend to recognize smaller shows, which is why I don’t see signs of broader support.

Well the TCA nominated it for Best Drama and it’d definitely get in before The Good Fight ever would.

I hope THT season 4 will be good because Moss deserve a second Emmy, nobody is doing it like her

I don’t think Fargo will have a season like Apocalypse.

Apocalypse was literally Coven: Season 2. I don’t think the Emmy’s are going to hold a cameo or two up to those same standards.

They brought back Mr. Wrench last season and they still counted it as a Limited Series.

FYC Oscars: Chloe Zhao (Nomadland), Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods), Mark Rylance (Trail of the Chicago 7), Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom), Soul (Best Picture, Best Animated Feature Film, and Best Original Screenplay)

FYC Grammys: Circles (Album of the Year), Good News (Record and Song of the Year), Future Nostalgia (Album of the Year), Don't Start Now (Record and Song of the Year), Everything I Wanted (Record and Song of the Year)

Looks like HBO will be pushing The Gilded Age and Succession as their Emmy contenders next year.

    https://www.indiewire.com/2020/09/euphoria-season-2-film-2021-hbo-special-covid-episode-1234587906/

Post Emmy predictions (leaving OzarkEuphoria, The Morning Show, Barry, Atlanta and What We Do in the Shadows out until they are confirmed to be returning or have filming dates)

Done in likelihood of a nomination. I think Maisel is going to end up like Mad Men at the Emmys. And with nominees I am assuming each show submits the same number of submissions as this year as it’s way too early to know how they will submit :

Apocalypse was literally Coven: Season 2. I don’t think the Emmy’s are going to hold a cameo or two up to those same standards.

That’s what I meant to say.

It’s a teen drama after all.

Just because it’s a teen drama doesn’t mean it has no chance. Glee was nominated for its first two seasons.

And also Euphoria arguably has more prestige now than Glee did in its first two seasons (I say this as someone who loved Glee) considering how Sam Levinson’s star as a producer and director has risen.

Isn’t Carrie Coon the lead actress of the gilded age? I doubt Baranski is considering she also has TGF.

Baranski and Nixon are first on the call sheet so I assumed they were the leads.

I think Cynthia Nixon is the most likely to go Lead. Unless she wants to split her votes in Supporting with her Ratched performance. I also think she’s getting nominated for at least one of those regardless next year. This is her first big TV role since Killing Reagan in 2016 and in that period of time I feel like respect for her has risen. Plus she’s campaigning a lot already.

Considering it’s a period series with big sets and detailed costumes I don’t think it can make it in for this year.

This is a good point but they have already started filming it and I’m sure if Amazon is going to try to cut down Maisel filming to get the season shot soon with the use of VFX and added post production time then I’m sure HBO can do the same.

Would be hillarious if the field ended up being so empty and Baranski still can’t get in for The Good Fight.

Carrie Coon replaced Amanda Peet as a main character, but Baranski also a lead. It’s a Downton Abbey style ensemble again. Baranski and Nixon play the snobby rich aunts to Carrie Coon’s middle class character, with Baranski filling the Maggie Smith role.

Whichever year The Gilded Age comes out, it’s sweeping the crafts. Hair, makeup, hairstyling, costumes, production are all theirs to lose. Downton Abbey in it’s heyday was unstoppable, and this will have the benefit of HBO budgets and campaigning.

Dunno about above the line noms though. Fellowes has a shoddy track record with sustaining a high level of writing. But that didn’t stop the Academy from nominating Downton Abbey year after year. Queen Christine better get her dues a la the Dowager Countess.

How likely is it that The Good Fight gets renewed for S6? Lindo and Jumbo leaving will leave Baranski as the remaining central cast member from S1. It feels like a completely different show even in S4.

I don’t know. Probably will get cancelled if Biden wins the election because the show will have lost its major plot line lol.
