Have submitted my list of over eight hundred program and acting contenders to Chris and he will now be building this event and the SAG one in the predictions centre and inputting many of them.

My point was that Shira Haas may suffer from not being as well known a name as her competitors next year (which Jharrel definitely suffered). It would be nice if you weren’t so flippant.

What? Jerome missed because they didn’t take to WTSU. At that point, he was quite known, and he was also in Moonlight, the Globe drama picture winner from 2017. Plus, the Globes are known for coalescing behind breakthrough talent, not ignoring it.

Like Jodie Comer in 2018 and Zendaya?

Look I’m not saying Haas (or Mescal) will miss so I don’t understand why people are falling on me like a tower of bricks here. I just sadly don’t think they’re locks (even though they should be).

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

There are exceptions -_- They can’t nominate each and every one either. They just didn’t like WTSU. I don’t know why people are trying to come up with alternative reasons. He got the biggest standing ovation at the Emmys that we’ve seen in years. As if he wasn’t well-known enough.

Gosh Luca you accuse me of seeing invisible words in sentences but it seems like you’re doing it yourself.

Yes he got a standing ovation because voters saw and loved his performance. But are we seriously acting like the T.V. Academy and HFPA have the same voters?

When I mean he isn’t well known enough. He is an unknown when it comes to a HFPA starry lineup that includes Russell Crowe, Sam Rockwell and Jared Harris. Yes the HFPA do acknowledge breakthroughs sometimes but it’s not as if they don’t ignore them when there is a lineup of A listers coming to TV or of actors from buzzy shows. Case in point Jodie Comer and Zendaya.

Like I said I am predicting Haas but if Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome can miss or eventual Emmy winner from the summer’s buzziest show Zendaya can miss then Haas can miss.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

I agree. But it doubt it would happen due to a lack of name recognition. If they disliked Unorthodox, then maybe — but I highly doubt they did.

All the limited series contending here look boring af to me, that I honestly don’t know what wins.

I May Destroy You is anything but boring.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

The Good Lord Bird is getting the first reviews and Hawkes performance is being praised.

Good Lord Bird was a weird book, but Hawke’s role was certainly very loud and quirky.

This might tell us how things are on the ground. I see no mentions for Stateless, Dirty John, The Good Lord Bird or even The Queen’s Gambit (although I am confident that unless it’s a dud it is in here).
