Based on the reviews, Watchmen might be a major contender. Its current metacritic score is 81.

Watchmen would need a metascore in the 90s to have a chance at being a major contender.

I think regardless of Watchmen’s chances overall, Regina King is getting in, whether it’s in limited or drama actress.

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

Regina King is always underestimated, and she almost always comes out on top. Seven Seconds, anyone?

I mean if Regina couldn’t get in for the Leftovers I don’t think she can get in drama actress for Watchmen. I feel like she’s not always guaranteed to be nominate, but whenever she is she’s competitive to win. Like, even though she won I still bet she was in the bottom 3 in the nomination round for seven seconds, and maybe her american crime wins too.

Regina King got in Seven Seconds in an exeptionally weak year. Next year’s Drama Actress is anything but that.

I’m really wondering whether the elimination of physical screeners will enable voters to acknowledge more shows. What do you all think?

I’m guessing Luke Kirby will continue to be guest eligible, and even if he’s not, I find it very difficult to believe that he’d win over Shalhoub.

Lmao she’s not the front runner. Borstein’s front runner by default considering she’s won the past two years.

I’d like to think the Emmys have matured so we don’t have to deal with another McKinnon win. I guess we’ll see next year if the award goes to the best performance, or the best mugging as a cabinet member.
