Star and exec producer America Ferrera announced she is leaving the NBC comedy at the close of this season (April 16), even though the show has been renewed for 2020-21.

This is sad. I like Superstore and America Ferrera. Wishing her the best and that the show continues to be funny.

Try this scenario as to a possible replacement;

On Thursday’s episode, Cloud 9 employees were faced with learning a new company app, and one of those items on it was an audiobook about Zephra’s (their corporate owners) CEO. Which turned into a voice cameo by Emily Deschanel, formerly of Bones.

Maybe the show can negotiate with Deschanel for an on-screen role next season. It’s unclear if she will be a part of season 5 of TNT’S Animal Kingdom as of now.

I’ve only seen up to episode 10 of S5 so far. I’m guessing with America leaving that the show will incorporate it as Amy will leave to take the job that Justina Machado offered her at corporate.
