If it’s anything like Netflix it’s 12.01am United States Pacific time.

It’s hard to tell. I’ve seen Apple released some shows at midnight pacific time but with others I’ve seen them get released as soon as it turns midnight over here (Physical being the most recent example).

Just watched it (in Sydney here). Dropped midnight New York time (sorry, I’m terrible with time zones). Won’t spoil too much because everyone else is probably asleep.

I agree with reviewers that this is not the best episode of the show, but it is still better than your average episode of TV.

Something felt a little off to me which I think I will put down to some of the blocking of the shots feeling a bit COVID-y. It is what it is, and I am very conscious these guys were filming in winter before almost all shows.

I think my MVPs of this episode were Goldstein and Sarah Niles, who I thought was a good addition. Whilst this is Cristo Fernandez’s episode, it more revolves around him rather than giving him much of an acting showcase.

It is funny how this show’s brand is the “nice, upbeat, not dark” comedy and it literally opened the season with a dog dying. Not a complaint just a funny acknowledgment lol.

Great to be back with these characters again, everyone still fits their role like a glove. My one qualm with the character work is sometimes I have a hard time sympathizing with Roy, like why does anyone keep putting up with him when he’s so negative 80% of the time?

It’s a British thing. They moan a lot, it’s not out of the ordinary 🙂

Borderline perfect premiere. Sudeikis was aces. I always love when they show a more vulnerable side to Ted. Helps make him a bit less of a caricature and more of an actual human. My favorite part of the show might be the chemistry between Rebecca and Keeley though (thanks to how brilliant both Waddingham and Juno are). I want more of them together. The Roy storyline was also hilarious. The night with the yoga moms leading into the reveal of Jamie being on reality TV was genius. This show is really back and better than ever.

Also! Did anyone notice how 1236 was both the record for Ted and Coach Beard’s paper ball game and also the amount Roy owed his niece for swearing? My brain may be in Marvel mode still but that seems like a weird easter-eggy choice.

100% on RT and an 85 on MC. See when you do talentry.

I’ll wait for like half the season to have aired so I can watch the whole thing within one month of subscribing to Apple TV and use the rest to watch some of their other shows I have my eyes on.

FYC: Lead Actress - Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza)

What a wonderful premiere. It’s also a great introduction to Sarah Niles’ character.

Wonderful opener! The way Sudeikis has already secured his nomination in my personal awards next year with that monologue eight minutes in lol.

I guess my only qualm with the episode is that it felt like the Covid related production restrictions were quite transparent? Whether it was with the use of more outdoor scenes, the use of extra CGI in the opening sequence or the lack of extras in the scenes at eateries. Although of course these are extenuating circumstances.

It’s a British thing. They moan a lot, it’s not out of the ordinary 🙂

I wanted to reply with a jokey sarcastic response but I realised the potential irony 💀💀💀.
