Bridgerton getting in is disappointing. To be frank, the directing on the show is completely fine, the writing that is the problem, but fine enough to receive a DGA nomination? No. The other 4 nominees are great and all stand a chance to win if you ask me. My personal vote would go to the fantastic Bagman from Better Call Saul or to close-to-perfection finale of Homeland entitled Prisoners of War.

The Flight Attendant is the only pilot nominated and is the only show who can’t suffer from vote splitting so it’s probably winning. I do can easily see Ted Lasso’s finale winning too. CYE would have shot if the John Hamm episode had been nominated, cause these two are easily vote splitting. From all the episodes nominated, I would easily cast my vote on Curb Your Enthusiasm’s The Surprise Party.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

What is concerning is that Bridgerton eerily follows the precedent of female director winning for helming the pilot.

Can you all settle. Bridgerton is a perfectly fine nominee. Unlike what you snobs believe, the purpose for these expanded slots at these various award shows is to add a pop of fun here and there. It’s a well-made commercial hit. And it’s a parallelogram (pandemic) for goodness sake! The offering of familiar shows isn’t there and it’s the perfect opportunity for voters to feel adventurous.

Oh ASC, I always forget your weird eligibility period. In Limited Series we get the rare Queen’s Gambit versus Watchmen fight.

    Imbroglio over Aberfan!!

I think they didn’t submit Aberfan since Goldman is nominated for Fairytale here. Imbroglio is a very deserved nomination though.

I just realized The Flight Attedant was snubbed at ACE. Wow.

I was predicting it to win the Emmy.
