February 3, 2021 at 10:36 am #1204018141This is the first industry award right? So The Boys over Lovecraft Country might be industry’s genre pick.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 3, 2021 at 10:40 am #1204018155The writing improvement on Ozark is still surprising to me.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 3, 2021 at 10:52 am #1204018182The big snub here is for The Flight Attendant in Writing – Comedy. Also for The Undoing. Assuming Schitt’s Creek was ineligible.
The nominations in Drama make me confident that we’ll see I Hate Suzie pop up in Drama Writing. The field is weak and it has passion so if BAFTA go for the show I’d say Prebble’s nomination is more or less secured.
Win Predictions
Drama Series: Better Call Saul (AMC)
Comedy Series: Ted Lasso (AppleTV+)
New Series: The Great (Hulu)
Original Long Form: Mrs. America (FX on Hulu)
Adapted Long Form: The Queen’s Gambit (Netflix)
Episodic Drama: Fire Pink, Ozark (Netflix)
Episodic Comedy: The Great, The Great (Hulu)ReplyCopy URLFYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"
February 3, 2021 at 11:14 am #1204018229OMG did they really snub Pen15 in comedic episode wtf
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 3, 2021 at 11:46 am #1204018399Better Call Saul would be competitive for like three above the line Emmys if it had been released this season instead of last. Pain.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 3, 2021 at 11:54 am #1204018415Better Call Saul coming for its third episodic win. Very well deserved all three nominations.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 3, 2021 at 12:23 pm #1204018488I’m happy for The Great and Ted Lasso but can’t say the same for The Flight Attendant. Kaley Cuoco’s performance is the strongest part of the show. The writing of The Mandalorian and Lovecraft Country aren’t that special either. The Boys, PEN15 and Ted Lasso are getting into series at Emmys.
