This is so late, but I haven’t found a thread for this show’s final season, which is getting closer and closer to its end.

I don’t expect this to become a popular thread but maybe there is someone else here who’s still watching the show. If so, it would be nice to discuss a flawed series (and season) that still remains more interesting that many more popular shows out now. And if anything, Maura Tierney and Dominic West continue with their exquisite acting which is always a pleasure to watch.

I unfortunately have been watching. But basically Bc it’s the last season and I already put the work in. But completely useless season. There was really no point to it I assume finale will be the daughters wedding. I keep hoping we see Anna P with Noah scene.

Hey, thanks for the comment! I think I might agree that the season as a whole doesn’t feel much centered and with an actual direction.
But I believe that its single parts are still interesting at times; I’m interested in how Helen lives her life; in how Whitney confronts her difficult situation; in how Noah keeps being an idiot; and so on. The future part is awkward though, I’ll admit that.

Episode 9 was one of the show’s best episodes (and season’s best). It felt really pivotal to the story, and very tense. If the last 2 episodes keep this quality the season will end up actually being good. Future Joanie seems not to appear in next week’s also so don’t really know if that storyline will pay off, but Noah/Helen has been really good/great with both actors at top form.

I’m actually really liking (most parts) the final season. I’ve been a fan since season one and have stayed with show. That being said, Maura Tierney is MVP of the series, and her performance will be one of the best of decade for me (especially the episode–which I believe was her tape–where she was singing “Change the Locks” in Season 2).

Tonight’s the night! Last episodes were interesting and I found the common Noah-Helen perspective fascinating, although it could have been more insightful. Hopefully they can land with a convincing ending. A truly underrated series of this decade, in any case.

Definitely flawed, but a beautiful and very emotional finale.
Joanie’s storyline ended better than I ever hoped, for the obvious surprise reasons. I was also surprised by the makeup on a certain character. Same narrative choices frustrated me a bit, not by much. I felt the need for some scenes (Noah-Whitney), but the heart was in the perfect place, I easily forgive that. All the main characters (f*** Sasha) had their definitive, closing-arc moments, and all ended right where they deserved.

The last two episodes definitely closed the series nicely. I love “bottle episodes” so Episode 10 was great. The finale has a nice impact, and I enjoy how full circle the world of this show came together. Will very much miss this series!

I actually enjoyed finale. All the little choices made it a good wrap up.

I agree that the finale was somehow flawed, in the sense that some moments were cheesy and not much more. But the highs were very, very high, enough to make it a good if not great ending.
I’m sorry to repeat myself, but I’d like to point out that even in its many problems I’ve never seen an episode from this show that left me uninterested. This was often challenging and insightful television and I will miss it greatly.

Nice finale, really hope Tierney could make it in for Supporting Actress at the Emmys but that’s unlikely considering how packed next year will be which is a shame because she’s the most underrated TV actress of this decade!

FYC Emmys : THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, SUCCESSION AND THE CROWN IN ALL CATEGORIES. Tony Shalhoub ("Maisel"), Cate Blanchett ("Mrs. America"), Matthew Macfadyen, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook ("Succession"), Tracey Ullman ("Mrs. America") and Louis Gossett Jr. ("Watchmen")

well, I would think she be submitted lead. Since, this season she was even more lead than Noah
