Do you think I can watch season 3 if I didn’t watch season 1 and 2?

Hopefully, he can bring some meatiness to the role like he did in God’s Own Country if you
    catch my drift.

My extremely lame jokes aside, I’m literally going into this season blind not having watched the first two lol. But from what I gather I won’t necessarily miss anything except for Foy’s performance.

There isn’t literally no reason to you do this. Season 1 and 2 are a work of art (really, really beautiful), with incredible performances not just from Foy, but Kirby, Harris, Smith, John Lithgow and many others. You have three months to watch 20 episodes.

If you’re willing to watch the third season, then you could watch the first two seasons as well. You don’t need to watch them completely before S3 but you should give them a try. You might really enjoy them.

I don’t know why I didn’t expect this response lol. I mean, I’ll be pretty busy for the next few months with classes, work, my internship, the LSAT/GRE, etc., so I don’t even think I’ll have time to straight up binge the third season, which is why I was going to skip the first two. But I’ll try to catch up lol.

Well, so just wait to watch the three season together when you are not to busy hahaha

Being 63 to play The Queen in her 60s to 80s is very different to being 69 and playing those. By the time they shot Walters would be perfectly in the middle of the age range.

I mean, makeup. If Colman can play the queen 15 to 20 years older so can Staunton.

mid 60s-70s is the best age for the oldest queen actress, there’s no reason to have the actress be a couple months from croaking

I would not start with season 3. There might not be many plot lines continuing from those seasons but so much character development would be missed out on.

Yes. Morgan hinted that season 3 will be a bit lighter than the first 2 so I expect it to be quite a different show actually.

But like others said the first 2 seasons have solid drama, high production values and amazing acting especially from Foy. I found some parts tedious though especially the excessive focus on Phillip but Morgan has an obsession with male ego. Vaguely remember season 2 having an exceptional run of episodes in the middle when they were focused on the Queen.

If you’re not watching the first two seasons of The Crown in order to see Vanessa Kirby’s performance then you’re simply not living your life the right way.
