I mean, makeup. If Colman can play the queen 15 to 20 years older so can Staunton.
Each to their own. I’d rather have a performer who doesn’t have to be doused in prosthetics.

She finished the season and said it was the best yet, praised the “extraordinary” writting and Benjamin Caron’s directing.

Checking out her other comments and she describes Colman as “a wonder” and “She’s absolutely extraordinary. Which she is, by nature. But what the character demands of her, and how she deals with it… No words can express. Actually, “no words” is a key element of the wonder.”
She’s a Globes member right? Very here for Colman going 3 for 3 at GG.
Also singled out Josh O’Connor for praise

Told ya. Crown is most likely sweeping next year and I don’t see anything stopping it unless TV academy goes full genre mode and goes hard on Watchmen and maybe even His Dark Materials.

Correct. And Watchmen debuts before The Crown so it will need to hit the zeitgeist hard and be of undeniable quality to compete. I don’t think the other returning shows have a chance. Even if Westworld season 3 is a revelation I can’t see it having the popularity to beat The Crown even though it will dominate tech categories.

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)September 6, 2019 at 1:46 pm #1203061054This is getting me very excited, but honestly it seems unfathomable at this point that the new list of actors could possibly surpass Claire Foy, Vanessa Kirby, Matt Smith, Matthew Goode, etc. However, I would love to be surprised, especially by the fantastic Olivia Colman.

This isn’t Season 3 news but Gillian Anderson has been cast as Maragret Thatcher in Season 4. Very intrigued by this casting, I’m sure she’ll knock it out of the park.

What she’ll achieve for sure is prevent HBC from repeating in 2021, if she’s supporting eligible.
September 7, 2019 at 10:51 am #1203062008Based on the lengthy Guardian article on a behind the scenes look at the next season, season 4 will end with Thatcher’s resignation so I think we can pencil Anderson’s name in as the frontrunner.
September 7, 2019 at 11:29 am #1203062056I’m ready for Anderson’s next emmy
The fact that Hannibal wasn’t watched by voters to the extent that she couldn’t even get guest nominations for the first two seasons is a joke. She also definitely deserved a supporting nomination for season 3. But yes this will finally put her back on the radar.

The fact that he was never nominated for playing Tywin Lannister (should’ve won guest for season 1 and been nominated in supporting for his other years on the show) makes my blood boil, even though he’s been nominated for other projects.
