This trailer has just won Emmys for Series, Colman, Bonham Carter, Directing and secured an Emmy nod for O’Connor.

What I want this show to win most is Writing… but Peter Morgan has to compete with Jessie Armstrong (who i’m also rooting for) and I just… sigh

For me the writing so far (can’t speak for season 3) has been great but not ‘best on TV’ great, which is what Succession is. The fact it was being presented as a challenger to The Americans’ series finale was laughable.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

I absolutely loved Foy and Kirby but Colman and Bonham Carter in this trailer alone made me forget about them. Can’t wait

I agree tbh. The writing on Succession is superior than anything else and also so consistent. Episodes like Tern Haven and Hunting (both not even written by Jessie Armstrong) are just as worthy for the Emmy as This Is Not For Tears. So I guess Mr. Morgan can sit this one out for at least another year.

I’m really curious about how they are going to tackle Diana storyline in s4. Hopefully the writers will show what Princess Diana had suffered

I think they’ll go there. They’ve skirted some things but have been surprisingly open about others.
I think they have to, since we know about her struggles.

Agree. They can’t sanitise it – it’s public domain and, specifically for this arc, it’s important they be true to life.

Intrigued to see Emma Corrin’s acting chops.

With the potential story material, Emma Corrin is locked to win supporting actress. S4 will definitely win best drama.

I mean sure, she will have the material but she is not a lock to win (for many reasons).

Was it? I thought it was always THT vs The Americans vs GoT. Mystery Man wasn’t a good submission IMO, something like Vergangenheit would have been a much worthier competitor to START. They had a really great submission in 2017 with Assassins though.

Vergangenheit would have been a much better writing submission and a pretty decent winner.

She has huge in show competition with Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher who did not get along with the Queen so there’s a juicy plot line there. Also her partner happens to be the writer and show runner so…
