In answer to the successor to Colman, why not Annette Crosbie? She’s a notable TV actress in Britain. Or Claire Bloom, who is more of a stage actress, but she has potential. Diana Rigg would be great, coming from GoT to The Crown. Alison Steadman is extremely underrated so it would be great to see her on the awards circuit. Anne Reid could also play her part well.

I think you mean 5 years time.

Lol I don’t see Colman accumulating having 10 more BAFTA nominations in 5 years time. Maybe 15 years.

Oh well my Charles prediction was wrong.

Josh O’Connor is the Season 3 Prince Charles.

This is amazing!(If true, I can’t find anything confirming it) I hope he gets the material he deserves.

Yeah, but that’s an official confirmation or anything, and after Hugh Laurie’s casting turned out to be false I don’t want to get my hopes up

Daniels is coming off two seasons of the well-liked but low-rated The Exorcist on FOX. In recent years he’s been seen in Starz’ Flesh and Bone, The Hollow Crown, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and even Netflix’s House of Cards.

O’Connor hasn’t been confirmed but it seems that no one else is in talks, so I would say I am 95% sure he will be Charles.

I’m still salty about that one.

I assume the 99 for S5 is because that decade deals with Diana’s divorce and death? I think I read somewhere that Peter Morgan doesn’t intend to focus heavily on this storyline (I don’t know how he couldn’t) because he feels he has already done it.

He doesn’t want to do the aftermath of Diana’s death from the Queen’s perspective because he has already covered that in The Queen but he could still do something like have it from the children’s perspective (which might either come off as opportunistic or completely heartbreaking). Plus the monarchy featured quite a few heavy losses in the 90s, including 3 divorces and her Annus Horribilis. It is sure to be a major season, with literally no filler episodes, same with S4.

Well, here’s hoping that it wins Drama Series at least once. It deserves that recognition, IMO.

With the Crown, I don’t even have to worry about a decline in quality. Peter Morgan is such an amazing writer!!! The Crown is flawless IMO.
