<p style=”text-align: center;”>Every year we overestimate The Crown when it comes to acting nods, let’s be honest, only olivia, emma, Gillian , helena and josh are getting in. This is the best case scenario, no matter how we try to flip it, Tobias and especially Erin Doherty wont come close to a nomination. What’s more laughable is the idea that emerald fennel could get in. Even with the ones I have mentioned will get in, Olivia Colman could possibly miss. I can see a situation where the winter awards don’t swing in her favour like last season</p>

I still think Tobias could get in just for Goldstick. Who else do you have in supporting right now? It’s literally a wasteland.

I actually think it helps them all around. I feel like Colman having an impact on Corrin will be similar to Witherspoon on Aniston so I think it will be Corrin vs Aniston (unless somehow they decide to default back to Moss lol). And O’Connor has a far easier path to a win (I mean who is going to stop him in lead apart from maybe Matthew Rhys?) and Anderson could now pull a Lithgow in awards trajectory (apart from maybe SAG). So far so good. It almost guarantee’s Menzies a supporting nominations and might actually help them get one of Doherty or Fennell in (Doherty has the bigger and more fan-favourite role but Fennell has more buzz).

Helena Bonham Carter might get to ride the coattails and use her name to get in for The Hereditary Principle

The way Colman is losing Emmy yet again. I love it. The amount of overratedness her Oscar win sparked was insufferable. Karma is a bitch.

What on earth? Why does Colman deserve bad karma just for winning an Oscar? She barely campaigned for any awards and rarely gives interviews. She’s very private and only appears in public for charity events.

The vitriol towards her on this forum is insane.

Karma for what? For giving a great performance and then winning an Oscar just on the strength of it?

I wonder if this movement might help HBC as well. I sense that Gillian’s performance is more divisive while hers is more liked. But then, she wasn’t given as much to do…

This forum isn’t particularly toxic towards Colman, Idk where this is coming from. Karma is karma. I don’t believe in bad or good, nor am I wishing her the worst. She’s probably winning someday, but it will be for a solid performance. She should have won for Night Manager tbh.

And the worst is not her, but you. Wish you luck all day; perhaps a millionth of Colman’s luck if you’re fortunate enough. This forum IS so toxic towards her Oscar. No one accepts a deserving performance to win. Everyone wants their bet to win.

If it’s about karma, she’ll get all the best because what she gave to me personally is always a blessing, a terrific performance and dedication to characterisation.

I was referring to the aftermath of her Oscar win, not her performance or whether she was deserving. Please learn to read carefully.

I’m choosing not to quote your first comment about her “overrated” Oscar win. It’s just so hard for me to understand that statement. So freaking hard.

Don’t forget how empty this year is and how well this season was received.

I do find the campaign they’re going for quite surprising. I think Colman should’ve been the only one placed in lead this year, but I do understand O’Connor and Corrin being put there. I could see both of them winning. O’Connor actually looks like he’s pretty much set for it right now. He can’t split, everyone loved his performance, and there doesn’t seem to be anybody else there who has his level of passion. Not to mention, he won’t split like Colman and Corrin. I feel like the latter lady will be closer to the win. Colman was excellent this season, but everyone went gaga for Corrin.

This definitely helps Anderson, which I think was a major reason why they did this. If they’re willing to put Corrin in lead, then they likely thought she would win supporting. I do find the whole thing kind of shameful though. It really feels like Morgan wanted to get rid of his wife’s biggest competitor, and has now put both Colman and Corrin’s chances at much greater risk than they were before.

I also think Menzies and Doherty can benefit from this. The former has no one else on the show in his way now, and the latter can benefit from spreading the wealth a little more now that one of the top two contenders from the show in that category has moved away.

I think pretty much everyone knew Menzies would go supporting this year, so I’m glad that seems to be the case. And I won’t hold his snub last year against him. It was a strong year, and the nominations were too crazy for me to think it’ll be like that again next year. I’m sure there’s plenty of people who wish he got in last time that’ll make sure to vote for him now. And his role really wasn’t that small. He had something to do each episode, even if a lot of them weren’t big moments. And he still got to close out the season with the last major dialogue. I think people will remember that.

Anyway, it’ll be interesting to see if all these changes stick or not. But we’ll just have to wait a while to know.
