That is my favorite part of award shows. I think it is so interesting to see the reaction shots when people win/lose.

With some people they didn’t even show them on camera at all. Was Joseph Fiennes even there for instance? I never saw a shot of him. There were many other cases like this.

I’m glad they did the clips but maybe next time they can split screen it.

Yeah. They should not have taken that away from us.

    And Fiennes was there.

No reaction shots of the nominees was inexcusable. It could have easily been done instead of the stills. Never do this again, Emmys!

I missed this too.  I mean, it is funny seeing people attempt to contain their disappointment, but even more than that, I like just seeing these actors not in character garb and makeup.  You see some of them anyway with the occasional reaction shot to random jokes, but not all of them.  Like how did Tatiana Maslany look?  What about Letitia Wright? Finn Wittrock?  You round up these stars and they make a big deal about looking extra pretty and then you do not show them off?  What was the point?

Was Laurie Metcalf even there? Lena Headey? The only way I knew Zazie Beetz was there was through the red carpet special. Sad. Every awards show now will attempt to “streamline” to appease people who will never watch while alienating the ones who do. It’s kind of funny that the only show that gets it and has this down to a science is the Globes lol.

I think the camera panned to Maslany sitting behind Regina King. I recall Letitia Wright looking salty losing to Merritt Wever. The “Versace” crew were all sitting together: Light, Criss, Martin, Ramirez, Wittrock, Murphy, and Cruz with Bardem up front. I hope Cody Fern at least attended/was invited or went to a great afterparty. Ugh, what a terrible snub!

Another reason the ceremony was not good. Seeing Ann Dowd win last year is still THE highlight of the last few years. Seeing Newton’s reaction this year would have been awesome!

Um, we did see Newton. Maybe they missed her mouth opening, but her eyes widening and her hand moving to cover her face was plenty of a reaction shot.

Um, we did see Newton’s reaction. Check again for yourself.

Yeah I know, but seeing close-ups of everyone would have been even better.

Cody didn’t attend the ceremony because he was filming AHS. But he did get to go to the afterparty.

Maybe because a lot of nominees weren’t there ? Like were Megan Mullally and Laurie Metcalf even there ?

Mullally was seated behind Millie. Looks like Metcalf was a no-show.
