TV’s best sci-fi series just started filming season FIVE (they got a 2-season pickup). The trailer for the December 13 premiere on Amazon Prime dropped this morning:

Discount them as 2020 award contenders at your own peril.

We’ll know for sure if being in SyFy was what kept the Emmy from embracing this show that should had been nominate three times for Drama Series.

The Oscar needs to get rid of the preferential ballot so it can name a deserving movie as Best Picture again.

Anything on Syfy was held back from the major categories (BSG should’ve won 3 drama series Emmys otherwise, and Continuum, Canada’s best import are two great examples of Syfy bias).

I can’t wait. Honestly, I’ve always loved good space sci fi and this show is really the only one that keeps me sane.

Now, that the bubble of joy (highly underrated Killjoys) is gone for good, The Expanse is the only thing that truly satisfies me in this genre from start to finish.

Season 4 went live at 7:05PM Eastern, 5 hours earlier than anticipated.

    Episode 4.1: New Terra
Written by Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby; directed by Breck Eisner

After the alien creators of the Protomolecule Ring Gate open portals to 1,300 new worlds within reach of the Milky Way galaxy, an interplanetary “land rush” begins. When a ship of ‘Belter’ (those worlds near the Asteroid Belt) refugees from Ganymede, a satellite of Jupiter manage to cross through, they settle on an uninhabited planet, Ilus, and discover it’s ripe with lithium deposits.

Although the Belters have made Ilus their new home, an Earth corporation named Royal Charter Energy is given a U.N. contract to conduct a scientific study of the planet, which they insist on calling “New Terra.” While the public line is that RCE isn’t there to evict the Belters, it quickly becomes clear the inners plan on claiming this planet as their own — and all the profits from the lithium therein.
