We already have one for film so why not for television?

    Four categories:

    – Lead Male Actor
    – Lead Female Actor
    – Supporting Male Actor
    – Supporting Female Actor

FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"

I’ve been rewatching “The Trials of Rosie O’Neil” on Amazon Prime, and it just solidified that Sharon Gless is one of the greats. Her opening monologue in the pilot is one of the best acted monologues (her first line is “I’m thinking of having my t**s done”–which was shocking at the time…not so shocking now). She should have more than two Emmys.

Julia Louis- Dreyfus as (Vice) President Selina Meyer is probably my favorite television performance in history.

It is great to see Sharon Gless get mentioned. I have seen a few episodes of The Trials of Rosie O’Neil and I thought Sharon was great in this show.

Sharon Gless’ performances with her storyline about her dad’s death and battles with alcohol were one of the best and haunting performances I have seen. There was no stopping her for the Emmy that she won in 1987 for Lead Actress in a Drama for Cagney & Lacey.
