For the sake of spreading the wealth I would love either Yvonne Strahovski or (call me crazy) even Madeline Brewer to win this year. I support Dowd’s win from last year, but while her performance is still excellent she hasn’t done anything that different this season. On the other hand, I loved the character development and emotional layers continuing to reveal themselves in Serena as a character. The writing is on Strahovski’s side more this year for sure. If Dowd wins I won’t be mad, but she definitely isn’t my #1 choice anymore by this point in the season.

TBH this season has been a roller coaster for me, I loved some episodes and hated others. This week episode is one of my favorites. Loved it.June 7, 2018 at 4:11 pm #1202560662

So, for the first time ever I’ve caught up with the most recent THT episode. Haven’t read all the previous posts to avoid spoilers, but here are my impressions.
I don’t think S2 is worse than S1. I actually find it slightly better. This show has never been a great one, but at least it’s keeping its pieces together. The fact that I’m prefering this season is probably due to my difficulty at believing the whole story – this show is literally screaming, from its premise, look how progressive, intelligent and deep I am, but I’m finding it a little less pretentious and humbler now. They’ve reached a fine and decent path and they’re covering it well. Finally there’s some subtlety – my favourite element of this season has been the growing relationship between June and Serena, which has provided some insightful reflections and allowed some psychological development that hasn’t been offered to any other character.
I wouldn’t nominate this show in Drama Series, but I would nominate Moss which is slightly better than in S1 – she’s always had natural expressivity, but she looks more focused now. There hasn’t been a single drama supporting actress who obsessed me in this Emmy season, but Strahovsky is probably my top choice. I would be okay with Dowd being nominated, although there definitely are 6 better choices, while Bledel is completely undeserving.June 8, 2018 at 2:19 pm #1202561254

This. I don’t get why people actually think Bledel will jump up into supporting when she had a better season last year in an easier category. I think Dowd will be the only one to make it and Strahovski will be snubbed again.June 8, 2018 at 3:20 pm #1202561293
Dowd Strahovski Bledel and Brewer should be all in by merit.June 8, 2018 at 3:53 pm #1202561301

I agree on all except maybe Bledel. She just has not been given enough material for me to declare with confidence that she is Emmy-worthy for Season 2. If Bledel is nominated then she better submit “Unwomen,” which would definitely be a win-worthy episode submission.

Finally catching up. Moss is BRILLIANT. I got to the point where my love for her started to fade after the first episode, but she keeps bringing new an dynamic elements to her character. Her performance is so captivating and just brilliant.
Dowd has more material and while I wouldn’t nominate, I don’t mind it this time, as long as Strahovsky is nominated as well. She better be. I’ve seen the first 4 episodes and she is so good.
Tomei was good with her material. I wouldn’t mind her getting nominated but I wouldn’t pick her myself. I feel the same way about Dowd and Bledel. The dialogue for the flashback scenes in the second episode was horrendous. That was probably my favorite episode of the first 4 though.June 9, 2018 at 1:32 am #1202561605

I personally don’t think Alexis Bledel will be nominated. I currently have Maisie Williams in 6th but I might replace her with Vanessa Kirby. It is very likely that no show gets multiple noms for supporting actress this year.June 9, 2018 at 3:28 pm #1202561870
Finally caught up. I actually don’t hate this season. This is fighting with Stranger Things, The Tale and Westworld for the final spot on my personal list for dramatic program. Strahovsky is in deed brilliant and I’d be very surprised if she was snubbed. Wiley was also fantastic. I was annoyed with her nomination last year, but I’d be happy if she won guest this year. The music is phenomenal.June 9, 2018 at 5:13 pm #1202561892
Strahovski’s performance on 2×08 was so brilliant, it will be a crime if she doesn’t get nominatedJune 12, 2018 at 12:35 am #1202563766
The next episode is a good one and a great episode for the ensemble. Everyone gets a strong moment except for absent Alexis Bledel and cameo Madeline Brewer. Canada comes off well. “We believe the women.”
