It’s still bad. We shouldn’t allow a whole boring season have one or two good episodes in the end and consider it great from that. They simply screwed up.July 26, 2019 at 10:23 am #1202997043
There will be a season 4 of #TheHandmaidsTale. Viewership is up 40 percent from last season. Supports my theory that we want to watch shows that are as miserable as our current existence. source
40%, hot damn!

I was really hoping June would finally get out at the end of this season, but in this last episode the writers are setting up as though we shouldn’t expect her to (when she says she is going to save the children, but she won’t leave Gilead without Hannah). If she doesn’t get out by the end of the season I think I’m done. The show is turning into Gilligan’s Island where every episode you think they’re going to get off the island, but something happens in the end and they never do.July 29, 2019 at 5:03 am #1203000632
The fact the viewership is up 40 percent from last season does not surprise anyone who lives in the real world. All the people that are obsessed in this forum to see the main characters out of Gilead does not get the point of the show at all. Gilead is the reason this show exist. Audiences love the season. Yes, the story lines are progressing very slowly, but none of the episodes are fillers… EVERY episode of the show is made with a lot of hard work and dedication, everyone can see that, this is why so many people love it so much. I feel that the last three episodes are going to be as crazy as last year, so prepare for shockers.
I just want to do a shutout to Madeline Brewer and her excellent and always ignored performance, her scene with Moss in which June lied to her about the destiny of her son broke my heart in pieces and made me cry (I cry very rarely), terrific scene.July 31, 2019 at 12:28 pm #1203004089
This week’s episode was excellent, and visually stunning (this show always is, but those outdoor shots with Fred and Serena were so awe inspiring). Great script too, so well paced. Fantastic direction and performances. I feel like all those weeks of building up June’s character finally paid off and made me believe the writers actually know what they are doing. Sure they could have done it better but this episode makes it all worth it. I still think the show will benefit from shorter seasons.
If they can keep this momentum going forward into the final two episodes, we’re in for a treat.July 31, 2019 at 1:22 pm #1203004228
They did THAT. Oh my god, I haven’t felt so much satisfaction in a VERY long time! The show will be returning to the Emmys. God that song in the final sequence was perfect.

OMG, this episode was amazing. I loved Elisabeth Moss’ performance, she was really greatAugust 1, 2019 at 4:07 pm #1203006224
Great episode, if things don’t disappoint until the finale I think I’ll consider this season better than the previous one. Amazing, I think I’ll predict them at SAG again.August 2, 2019 at 12:56 pm #1203007444
Just watched “Unfit” and it wasn’t just a bad episode but it wasn’t even a good Dowd tape. She had better episodes this season and in the entire series, it is sad that a backstory Aunt Lydia episode was so mediocre.
I don’t know with they tried to do a new “Holly 2.0” with “Heroic” but it was a complete failure. But it was a good episode for Moss.August 2, 2019 at 1:32 pm #1203007514This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.August 2, 2019 at 2:12 pm #1203007576
I’m really wondering what will be their submissions for directing and guest acting. Directing is between Mike Barker, Dearbhla Walsh, Daina Reid, and Deniz Gamze Ergüven. They will probably limit with two, and probably one of the female directors will join Barker. Walsh is a previous Emmy winner and in my opinion deserves the most, Ergüven is an Oscar nominee helming the buzziest episode (the rural shots and the final sequence were amazing), and they just nominated Reid. I hope it is either Ergüven or Walsh earning a nomination.
Former series regulars Max Minghella and O-T Fagbenle will be eligible as guests in addition to Christopher Meloni. I don’t think that they are deserving but they will probably be nominated. In guest actress, Alexis Bledel, Clea DuVall, Cherry Jones, and Elizabeth Reaser are eligible as of today. I hope only Bledel is submitted. Julie Dretzin and Samira Wiley can be eligible as well if they only appear in one more episode.August 2, 2019 at 8:10 pm #1203007934
Just watched “Liars”. It was so refreshing, finally an amazing episode. The soundtrack, the cinematography and Moss’s acting are terrific.August 2, 2019 at 8:59 pm #1203007952

We’re up to ‘Heroic’ here in the UK. I seriously don’t get the lukewarm reactions.
It’s not felt glacial to me and there hasn’t been a dud episode.
We’ve seen with other shows this most recent TV season that rushing a great story to finish it all really weakens things across the board.
