Ik it’s still early but what’s with Hollywood doing projects about the same thing at the same time? Just found out about this which focuses on Roger Ailes (played by Russell Crowe) on whom the film Fair and Balanced starring Charlize Theron will also be out this Oscars season. My darling Naomi Watts is in this playing the same role as Nicole Kidman in the movie, Gretschen Carlson. The rest of the cast includes Sienna Miller, Seth MacFarlane, Annabelle Wallis, Emory Cohen, Josh Charles, Simon McBurney, Josh Stamberg.

Premieres June 30, 7 episodes, obviously a lock (to be nominated) for Best Actor and Limited Series at the Globes.

Showtime posted the first two episodes (titled “1996” and “2001”) on the press site yesterday and I do not see an embargo.

    Isn’t that very early?

It is indeed on the early side; they also posted the first three episodes of City on a Hill starring Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge.

EDIT: City on the Hill premieres two weeks earlier.

Oh, nice. If you check them out, I’d like to hear what your thoughts on it might be.

Not gonna defend Crowe, but isn’t this particular weight gain also because of this show?

Anyway, these dual projects give me Kardashian type anxiety, meaning, it’s fake, but it still bothers me a little. Somebody always fucks up and I can imagine it being the series. Which is also premiering way too early for next year’s Emmys. Hopefully both turn out good.

And by the way, why is Hollywood doing this to us? Kidman and Watts, of all people, playing the same role in the same year? Fuck! That automatically makes me think the series fucks up, Watts never wins. Even when they both fucked up with biopics, Grace of Monaco ended up at the Emmys and Kidman at SAG.
