Four episodes in and the show and performances are still great, but the negligence of the kids is really distracting

I think it’s reflective of the times. Mad Men was the same way. Adults’ lives didn’t revolve around kids the way they do today.

There is middle ground between parents’ lives revolving around their children and merely acknowledging the existence of said children.

I think this season was excellent, with Shalhoub definitely the standout, but Brosnahan and Borstein were terrific as well. Hinkle was great as well and deserves a nod. The Catskills episode(s), especially the big show episode, will probably get into writing/directing. This show can win a second top Emmy and I can’t convince myself to predict somebody other than Brosnahan for the Globe. She’s so full of energy and zeal. Love this show.

Borstein and Shalhoub were definitely better in season two Brosnahan wasn’t as great as she was in the first. I enjoyed the seasons pretty much equally but god the ending of season two was kind of annoying wish she would make up her mind.

Finished “Vote for Kennedy, Vote for Kennedy” on New Year’s Eve and it was probably my favorite TV episode of 2018. I would submit this one for writing and directing for the Daniel Palladino credit and also submit “Midnight at the Concord” for writing and directing for the Amy Sherman-Palladino credit. I also loved Jamie Babbit’s direction of “Look, She Made a Hat”, but I’d be wary of flooding the ballot.

I’m holding off watching the finale because I don’t want the season to end and have to wait a year or so for more.

I’ve finally decided to watch this show, and I am so glad that I did. The first season I would not have nominated for anything outside of Brosnahan, Lynch, and Hinkle in the main awards. The second season, however, was phenomenal. The Catskills episodes were the best of he show. Brosnahan, Shalhoub, Borstein, Hinkle, Lynch, Sewell, and Kirby are all deserving of their nominations and Brosnahan and Shalhoub would be deserving of wins, even if I would pick some other nominees in their category over them. The writing is so good, and the directing as well. I still wouldn’t rank it ahead of Barry or Fleabag for my personal awards, but at least I can now be more satisfied if it does win. Now that I’ve watched all the comedy series nominees, Veep may have been my least favorite, either that or Russian Doll.

Big fan of Better Call Saul, Sex Education, Barry, BoJack Horseman, and, especially, Survivor
