This has an 80 on MC https://www.metacritic.com/tv/the-other-two
Genuinely surprised that this show is not on anyone’s radar here. Look, Sex Education and True Detective are great shows, but The Other Two is undoubtedly the best show to come out so far (and yes I’m saying this as someone whose only seen the pilot so far) it has the potential to be a big hit (awards-wise, because those ratings are meh) for Comedy Central. The writing is sharp and the performances across the board are excellent.
The show is just brilliant and I cannot wait to see the rest of the season. Look. This. Show. Up.January 28, 2019 at 9:20 am #1202752723
This show wasn’t on my radar, but I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and thought it looked really good. The pilot episode was a lot of fun and the critical reception has been glowing, so I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season. Helene Yorke looks like she’ll be the breakout star of the show if it gains traction. Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider oversaw the biggest and best year of “SNL” since 2008, and Kelly’s screenplay for “Other People” was genuinely heartbreaking and funny. I’m happy to see him follow up with another buzzy project, and I’m confident this show will toe the line of funny and poignant, as has already been pointed at with the end of the first episode.January 28, 2019 at 4:05 pm #1202753278
I just watched the pilot and really liked it too. The cast is strong across the board and I’m excited to see where it’s going. And it’s funny. Thank god for actual funny comedies.January 29, 2019 at 3:41 am #1202753891
I liked it as well. Can’t w8 for more.February 4, 2019 at 6:58 pm #1202761669
The second episode was great. Helene Yorke is killing me in this role. Her line reading in this episode had me in stitches. I really hope this show continues to catch on.February 12, 2019 at 6:02 am #1202773266
Officially renewed for season two!February 12, 2019 at 6:28 am #1202773278
Molly Shannon is a sweetheart.February 12, 2019 at 10:18 am #1202773508
Watched the first three episodes and I wouldn’t say it’s must-see TV. At some points it looks like a very amateurish movie that aired at Sundance and then divided it in episodes. The blonde girl is funny. The casting for the kid was perfect. Molly Shannon should fire her agent. She rarely gets projects worth of her enormous talent.February 16, 2019 at 9:06 am #1202778282
Kate Berlant was hysterical in her brief appearance this week. I sincerely hope that character gets brought back into the fold. Also a very good episode for Drew Tarver.February 23, 2019 at 1:50 am #1202785745
The show isn’t the best comedy on TV, but Carrey is such a complex and realistic gay character that I haven’t seen in media before, which makes me feel so great considering I relate to him on so many levels. Drew Tarver deserves to win an Emmy for this.February 23, 2019 at 2:00 am #1202785749
^I agree with all said above. The show had potential, I caught up yesterday with the last few eps, but it’s still doesn’t seem to take off, it’s a little stretching imo.February 23, 2019 at 8:00 am #1202786067
Ken Marino was hysterical in this last episode. I don’t know that I realized he was a series regular, but he is so funny and brings most of the genuine laugh-out-loud moments. I wish Helene Yorke was getting more to do because she is my favorite part of the show, but Drew Tarver is really killing it too.March 22, 2019 at 4:11 pm #1202826193
Last night’s episode would be a winning tape for Shannon if tapes mattered.March 22, 2019 at 6:02 pm #1202826217
Anyone know how to watch this in the UK?
