It’s a shame too because very little of consequence actually happened in the premiere. I liked that they went with a more comedic tone in this episode, but still had some good gross out moments.
The problem is that I don’t see the point of anything that happened.October 14, 2013 at 4:56 pm #287945
What a terrible episode. The Rick drama with that lady was awful.October 15, 2013 at 1:11 am #287946
Michelle Maclaren is directing the season 4 finale! I loved her episode in season 2. Especially the scene where Sophia comes out of the barnOctober 17, 2013 at 12:03 pm #287947
fantastic news!October 20, 2013 at 9:09 pm #287948
Good episode, but next week , it is going wild! Can’t wait for it. The actress playing Michonne was great.October 20, 2013 at 10:49 pm #287949
Jesus, Carol. Even Chris Partlow knows someone’s first kill shouldn’t be someone they know. That was Dexter bad. Rest of the episode was good, though.
For those who’ve read the books: was this flu storyline in the books?October 21, 2013 at 12:21 am #287950
I don’t know what to think about Season Four so far.
I’ll just say this, it’s not as good as it should be.October 21, 2013 at 5:14 am #287952
This episode was more “shock” and less great story-telling.
The most glaring wrong so far this season is the half-introduction of all these characters just to have them last 2 episodes at most, keeping all our regulars safe….
Also, the Carol stuff feels so forced. I understand the need for it (sure, the kids need to protect themselves, or they’ll end up like Sophia), and I think Melissa McBride is doing her best with the material, but the actual writing in her scenes is so clunky.
I’m still in, but this is quickly becoming guilty-pleaure viewing instead of must-see television.
Btw, Danai Gurira’s scene with Judith was very touching.October 21, 2013 at 7:05 am #287953
The opening five minutes last night were some of the scariest scenes this show has produced since the first season. The show always brings plenty of action and gore; but scares are much less common.
This season is off to a better start than the past two seasons. The refocus on the characters has been a pleasant surprise.October 21, 2013 at 11:51 am #287954
Why does this show keep killing off nameless characters and expecting us to feel bad? I felt worse for the pigs.October 21, 2013 at 6:35 pm #287955
Ye that was a problem, but what I think the writers were really trying to do there, was show the little girl’s point of view, I mean, obviously they didn’t succeed as usual, but I’m not sure killing nameless characters is a problem since the show would be far worst if in every episode one main character died.October 21, 2013 at 6:38 pm #287956
I”m pretty annoyed so far. It seems like the writers are throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks.
But let’s take some guesses…who do you think is behind the burning of the bodies and the rats at the gate?
My money is on Carol.October 21, 2013 at 6:51 pm #287957

I agree, i felt worse for the pigs, up to this point i just dont care for these characters enough and everything feels forced. I almost started laughing after the second pig was sacrifies by how much they made it seem like the most dramatic and hard decision ever, i actually feel rick feel worse about the pigs dying than his wife, i mean these people are living in a harsh world, you would think they would get some harder skin.
I wish this show was more like LOST with flashbacks that would show us who this people were before (almost like that kid trying to guess darell’s past job) and make me care for them because as of now i dont. I remember some flashback about laurie and shane escaping the city and i though this is so good, i want more but there havent been any. And is it me and the first part of the episode was just not scary? i mean it was ok, but this is a zombie show i wanted to be scare out of my seat and i was not. maybe its because the person at risk was someone i had never seen before and now she is dead so who cares.October 21, 2013 at 7:06 pm #287958

This wasn’t Karen’s first episode.
