Is someone still following this? Do you think we might still get some good writing for McBride at least? Never had any complaints about Linlcoln because he has been spot on since season 1, but some characters had just went to shit.

Episode Title: Mercy
Rick brings ‘All Out War’ to Negan and his forces. The Saviors are larger, better-equipped, and ruthless – but Rick and the unified communities are fighting for the promise of a brighter future. The battle lines are drawn as they launch into a kinetic, action-packed offensive. As with any battle, there will be losses.

tbh outside of a couple of episodes, last season was so disappointing to me that I didn’t bother keeping up with the promo trail for this season and almost forgot the premiere was tonight. I agree that Carol and Rick are two of the consistently best characters but it’s getting harder for me to come up with more characters I care to watch and new ones are stuck to the same few character archetypes (naive newcomer without a kill, dangerous character gives up killing for principles and pacifists realizing killing is necessary, obvious redshirts, etc.).
Inertia itself compels me to at least have it playing in the background but otherwise I’m questioning why we need many more seasons of this. Which sucks because All Out War is a good arc and there’s still lots of material to go through.October 23, 2017 at 2:03 pm #1202246177
I thought the episode was just okay, not the best premiere, I am confused by the time jump.October 23, 2017 at 10:28 pm #1202246537
A pretty weak season premiere by their standards…..October 24, 2017 at 11:37 pm #1202247522
I was also a little disappointed with the premiere. The time jump thing was hard to follow. Not their best but not their worst. I always hold out hope that Andrew Lincoln and Melissa McBride will be recognised but it’s becoming less and less of a possibility. I thought that maybe Jeffrey Dean Morgan could get the show some awards traction but that didn’t happen.
This show has just become a regular watch for enjoyment for me now.October 26, 2017 at 5:53 am #1202248576
I recorded it, but haven’t been compelled to watch it. I will however. There’s enough there that I am watching to the end of the series. And, how can a planet full of dead people coming after you, end well? We’ll see…lolNovember 26, 2017 at 9:20 pm #1202421623
Season 8, Episode 6 “The King, The Widow and Rick”
This episode was good, good enough to recommend.
Not only did we get lucid updates of Carol, Maggie, and Michonne, we had Daryl and Rick on different paths, and finally Carl, introducing a new character, Siddiq (Avi Nash), who is hopefully a good guy.
One impractical choice was bringing the Saviors into Hilltop…please, this is no time to bring hateful savages into a community barely able to sustain itself, and who present a clear and present danger to their existence. Time to get Machiavellian on their asses, especially that weasel Gregory.
It appears there is still hope for The Walking Dead.December 11, 2017 at 6:04 pm #1202437251
OH Hell, that was a shocker, gonna miss this character.December 11, 2017 at 7:05 pm #1202437320
): So much for his planned future in the comics where he was going to be the next leader of the community. I know the actor had to go to college but Lawd is it tough to see this happen.
